Crazy weather again.
Last weekend we had temperatures as low as -10°C during the day and we were busy making snowmen, having snowball fights and skating on the frozen ponds and lakes. Today, it was 18°C and sunny. Fantastic riding weather. So me (CBR650F), my brother (MT-09) and his brother-in-law (z800) did a 150km ride today. It's been a month since I last sat on my bike (had the dead battery then) so it was great to have a nice sunny ride again.
Similar over here in the UK. I'm 'down south' and it was 15c and the first time I've been on the bike since the first week in November. It felt incredible and was grinning from ear to ear the whole 2hr ride.

Rode my CB650F to work for the first time, kinda wish I lived further from work now.

Also installed grip puppies and a crampbuster.

My Xitomer fender eliminator arrived today, about a week earlier than expected. Relatively easy install. I think the spacers they give for the turn signals could be a bit thinner. Just gotta finish up the license plate light, but don't have the proper crimping/heat shrinking at home.

Looks good though.

Installed the Puig short levers...what a difference! Specially with the clutch, now I can keep 2 fingers in both levers with confort (I have small hands by the way). Also, in order to try keep the radiator cleaner, I installed a front fender extension (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-CB650R-19-Front-Mudguard-Extension/193011106900?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649). A word of caution: is really hard to take out the front fender without scraping the shock tubes, but with lots of patience, this can be done (it take me about 15 minutes to take out, plus another 15 to put it back). The plastic extension can be installed flush, but this means you need to trim the corners of the OEM fender until the results are good. In my case, because I want to paint the fender body color, I don't take the time for try this (another day maybe). For added security, I made 2 small holes near the corners, and installed 1 small screw and nut in every one (the fender comes with two side 3M tape in many sizes and shapes, but I don't trust this system so much). I'm really happy with the final result, pics for show. Happy motoring!View attachment 8417View attachment 8418View attachment 8419View attachment 8420View attachment 8421

Hi

I'm looking to change the levers on my CB650f (2017) and I also came cross the Puig levers. Are you happy with them? Are they easy to install? Because I was reading about them on other sites and people were talking about changing the lever adapters. The Puig site said it needed a professional mechanic to do the job ;

" As for the assembly of these, the levers are delivered with detailed instructions and do not require modification of the motorcycle. In case it is the first time that a set of handles is purchased, you must also buy the set of specific fittings for your motorcycle, since the Puig handles are not assembled with the original fittings. The assembly of the fittings must be carried out by a specialized mechanic, since before circulating, due to modifications in the models of the brake pump, the wheel must be raised with a trestle to check that the wheel is not braked. If it is braked, it can cause the brakes to lock. "

Thanks in advance!

Spent the day with it up on the stand and started my spring service, along with a sprocket change. I switched to a 520 and dropped a tooth in the front. Only a pound savings in weight. The Honda 525 rear sprocket is actually a few oz lighter then the Superlight 520 I put on there.

I also mounted my T31 tires, did an oil change, cleaned everything, lubed the cables, and bled the brakes. I'm debating draining the coolant now or waiting closer to my next track day. I have a Puig wind screen showing up on Monday to install. Might just do the coolant change then, too.

I've also decided that I'm tired of spooning tires on and off, and considering the time I spend and the sore knees I get switching between my street tires and track rubber, I think this season I'll buy a changer. The problem is where to put it, but this wall-mounted unit reviewed by RW looks interesting:

I'm also thinking about which tires to run for track this year. I love the Q4, but I'm also not using them to their fullest. I'm not an A group rider. So, I'm considering the Q3+, but then I saw the Bridgestone RS10s are freaking cheap in comparison. Also, I can likely get several weekends out of them, unlike the two track days I get out of the Q4. Anyone here use the RS10 for track duty before?

I LOVE my NoMar, and if you get a hitch mount you can hide it until you need it then use your vehicle as the base. My dad and I “split ours”, he has more room at his place than I do and changes more tires as well, but have it mounted to a board that we can slide around and we just stand on it when using it, but I also have bought the hitch mount to use when I need it.

I bought mine from the CB650Shop online web site. They send me a specific kit for my bike, with everything needed for the installation. Very easy to install (less than an hour) with basic tools (for note, I'm not a professional mechanic, only armed with Youtube knowledge), and yes, I'm very happy with them! Specially with the clutch lever, because now I can adjust the distance for confort when riding, keeping in mind the free play of the cable.

Removed some warning stickers today. Used a heat gun but still some adhesive on the bike. Guess I'll have to wipe it with some wd40 or something the wash it right away. Unless you have a better idea?

I thought I'd ride to the supermarket I usually walk to, so I rode there instead. It was a bit of a roundabout route that took an hour, but sod the lockdown. I've been cooped up for too long and I needed some relief. I enjoyed every second, and it took me even longer to get home. I couldn't care less if I was stopped and fined £200 for breaking the rules, I needed to do something positive, and it did me the world of good.

It hasn't rained in the UK for a few weeks now, but it has been cold at night, so there is plenty of salt on the roads, so much so they are white. I let the bike cool down and gave it a good clean afterwards.

It cheered me up. I'd forgotten how much of a buzz biking gives you.
