Rideout in North Wales with a mate on a VFR 750, met at Queensferry 'the' ASDA and set off for Ruthin, then onto Denbigh, then onto Betws-y-Coed. Weather was cloudy with sunny spells and slightly chilly with a gusty wind. On the return trip heading out of Betws-y-Coed on the A5 we hit a road closure due to a cycling race so turned around and made our way towards Ffestiniog as a work around back to Queensferry, nobody wants to ride on dual carriage ways when in north Wales so the A55 wasn't happening!!!! We ended up on the B4407 towards Ffestiniog and then turned for Bala to return to the A5 and the A494… What a road the 4407 is 75% pristine single track tarmac with the most stunning views and absolutely no speed cameras. Keep this quiet as most great roads in the UK are average speed cameras with 50mph limits. This Road was spectacular, and it's a good length of quiet road in beautiful countryside!!! What a great day 200 miles clocked off!!!

Swore and moaned a lot at the inaccessibility of the spark plugs; while doing a plug change, k&n filter fitment, new oil filter and oil change. Topped up the coolant and will be monitoring that (no obvious leaks).

I’ve just done the same today, nice day of a full service planned. Have a spark plug tool which has suited me fine in the past, go to use it and the handle is caught on the cross bar. Now awaiting an extension set to sort it tomorrow.

My recent solo trip from UK to Girona in Spain, roughly a 2000 mile round trip, avoiding the French Autoroutes and generally sticking to the D roads.

Started (no pun intended) to have issues where the bike would start and upon manoeuvring out of the garden, it’d stop like I’d knocked the kill switch. Turns out, the brown plug from the ignition had a little bit of corrosion and another cable was pressing on it. Rotating the bars caused the cut out. Cleaned it up, moved the cables and it seems ok now.

Installed bar risers, up and back, feels more upright but we've got such crappy weather I can't take it on a long ride to see if it makes a difference in fatigue yet. After 2hrs or so I get pretty uncomfortable in my back/shoulders from leaning forward.

Only had to extend the brake hose, I was able to remove the headlight and pull some extra slack on the electricals, and the clutch/throttle cables were fine as is. Though the throttle cables are pretty close to being tight. Might be able to adjust at the throttle body to get more length but it's not sticking as is.

The issue of start stop came back last week but thinking I had the source of the issue, wiggling the connector seemed to fix it. I planned to open and clean/grease the contacts but the bike beat me to it ……

This morning, it stopped multiple times before I’d even left the garage and it was doing it when bars were pointed ahead. I whipped the cluster off at lunch and found it was not the ignition plug at all, the wires to the kill switch looked fine but wiggling them made the same issue appear. I narrowed it down to a section which inside the headlight area was quite bent back on its self. See picture of broken wires (bear in mind, the insulation from outside was 100%.
