HJC IS-MAX - DOVA MC1SF

loved the shades in it and pretty comfy, only downside is weight. practical for some short riding period as it's pretty hot over here.

HJC CL MAX III

Pros:
Cheap

Cons:
Sun visor useless, you can order a darker version, but it's only 5-10% darker. I'm in the city and NOT some sunny place.
Has Grooves for glasses, so they don't squeeze your head, but now my glasses keep sliding forward!
Pushing the button to retract the sun visor gets stuck, no matter how much cleaning, or lubing. I have to mess with it when riding. The spring in the helmet is too weak, that's causing the problem.

If I was to do it again?

I would have gone back to a G-Max helmet.

My cheaper G-max helmet had a better sun visor, more vents, and a super clear lens.

Hope it matches the color scheme of the black CBR650R.

Oh well.......I send my Rpha 70 to retirement.

Didn´t I mention once that a common buzzard almost hit me once on the CBR650?

Well, this time he did. Frontal onto the helmet. He was ripping apart a dead badger on the side of the road. I came around the corner, saw him ascending with his claws full of innards out off some grass the last second.
Already thought he passed my route and prepared to be covered with disgusting stuff, grabbed the brake. Somehow that moron decided to do a 180° turn around and *boom* :banghead: right against my helmet.

Had to cancel my planned 500km Black Forest tour. Glad I didn´t got further away from home than 10km. Had to take a 5 minute rest because my head hurt and I felt a bit dizzy. After cleaning the visor (that was covered with some strange, clear secretion that smelled horrible) I couldn´t spot any damage.

Pretty sure it would still do it´s job but oh well. Given the impact and the fact that my top vent jammed and my sun visor moves sluggishly...I don´t feel that confident any more.

Got a steal on this bad boy so I though screw it.... (HJC Rpha 11 Jonas Folger

I have the icon airflite battlescar 2 cause it reminded me of good ol master chief. The gold visor also surprisingly good visibility at night and I've never needed to switch it out for a clear one.

I have the same helmet (icon airflite) but instead of the battle scar version I just got gloss black and a gold visor. I love the helmet but it’s my first one so I’m don’t have much to compare it to. As Fletchaa mentioned the gold is pretty good day and night, plus there is a pop-up sun visor as well.

A partridge flew up and hit me in the chest the other day with quite a thud , a good reason to wear a full face helmet I suppose ,I wouldn't fancy being hit in the face by one wearing an open face helmet.

A lot of RPHA's on here! Love this helmet and from all the hours of research I've done I have discovered:

1) There is no such thing as a "quiet" helmet! Wear ear plugs!!! Been riding for 30 years and I firmly believe I have lost some hearing due to years of half-helmets and wind noise!
2) The RPHA's have the best ventilation than even the Shoei's! Sure, could be argued but from the research I did this is what I found. I live in Florida where it's ALWAYS scorching hot! This helmet has proved itself and is cheaper than many others.
