Hey all,

Finally got this uploaded yesterday. Just a short video, will have the rest up hopefully this week of the unboxing, installation and final review of the system.

All the best,

Dan

Hi Dan. Love the videos you put on Youtube.

I recently fitted this pipe to my cb650f and its running qiite hot. (Probably a running lean i guess). Did you notice any difference in temperature on your bike when you fitted it?

100% agree. I purchased a set of Eargasm (https://eargasmearplugs.com/products/eargasm-high-fidelity-earplugs?variant=12120483004489) earplugs and love em. Can still hear my music and other folks I'm riding with perfectly fine and it brings the exhaust note down just a touch.

I'm running no baffle, no cat, and no tune. Sounds great, runs great.
Just fitted the Akra to my 2018 650F. No baffle, no CAT, no tune. It seems to be rinning auite hot though. Are you experiencing any increase in heat?

What makes you believe it’s running “hot”, just a feeling or are you seeing an over temp light? Lots of us have swapped with zero issues and most are running without a PCV. The bike will run great with that exhaust, no need to worry.

What I mean is that I can feel a lot more heat coming from the bike when riding. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

On a specific part of your body or just in general?

OEM equipment has a lot of shielding, double walled construction, spacers, guards, etc. that an aftermarket item usually doesn’t. That’s why it’s so much lighter than OEM.

Have a good look around and be sure everything is seated right, you’re not missing anything or something not right but I’ll bet it’s normal and you’re just on high alert since you changed something. I had my Akra on for most of my bikes life, I don’t remember a change in heat or it being any different heat areas after changing.

I also have not noticed any heat difference.

Mainly legs and feet. You have a good point about being on high alert, im always critical about new parts regardless of the brand. Just don't want to burn anything up for the sake if an aftemarket pipe

Late to the party again...but no heat issues here for me either. I have about 3,500 miles on this setup so far.

I did notice a few Lambo style backfires here and there, nothing crazy. But I started using 93 octane and it completely stopped.

you are okay man. Akra here. Same same. Akra (in tandem with O2 sensor) wont make your bike run lean. Just download a default PCV map for Akra and you will get what I mean (it is actually leaner!!!). Where the heat comes from? thinner and larger pipes plus the exhaust can with no heat protection. compare it to the stock and you will see the difference. If you are still not comfortable with the this heat situation, talk to a Ducati or Aprilia owner and asked them how they lost their healthy balls :)

That's hilarious. But true! 😂

So on the akrapovic exhaust...does the can REALLY touch the swing arm when the bike is on the side stand?! That's terrible engineering. I have the carbon fiber tipped one, maybe thats thicker? When sitting on the bike, it gives it maybe an inch of clearance.

Also, the headers have about two sheets of paper worth of clearing on the cut out in the faring...I'm worried the heat is going to melt them.

I had a mechanic do my install, so it's not me being an incompetent DIYer.

This is for the cbr650r. I'm super disappointed in this system design so far.
Can you confirm which model number you have? Is it the S-H6R14-HEGEHT? I’m looking for EC Euro4 compliant(ish) with cat and ability to remove baffle and carbon tip! Cheers Al

Sorry for the delay in response. Yes, that's the model I have (I opted to take the baffle out, which I'd highly recommend, it sounds awesome!). Carbon tip is a sharp look too.

I have to say, I have Akrapovic systems on my 650R and my Fireblade, and a Yoshimura on my 500R. The Yoshi is quality and sounds just fine. But Akrapovic definitely earned their reputation and (imo) worth the premium.

Goodmorning TIA,

I have the akrapovic s-h6r11-aft fitted on my bike (with the DB-killer). This exhaust was on one of my dealer demo bikes. When the demo was sold, i bought the exhaust from the dealer and they fitted it for me.

I asked if it needed a tune but this isn't neccesary at all. The exhaust is just plug & play!
So I didn't went for a tune.. just a waist of money (in my opinion). Bikes still runs smooth as f#ck. Runs like a charm if you ask me.
Nothing to worry about.;):)

Gilles
Is your bike still running smoothly? Did you ever add a tune or power commander?
