I hit 103mph (indicated) on my ‘20 CB650R, only once though to try it... It was intense and hard to fight the wind at that speed though. Normally I don’t go past 80ish as that’s about my comfort limit, at 90+ it just gets harder to control the bike due to wind & crappy road surface. Plus, once you pass that speed you can either get in a lot of trouble with the law or have a serious incident. Not worth the risk, in my humble opinion...

I am not mentioning a specific speed but the cb650f is quite good going fairly fast as regards wind resistance considering it is a naked bike without any screen.

I maxed out at 97 mph on my 20 cb650r today. The wind turbulence definitely gets sketchy above 80/85. But I was a on a good stretch of highway and otherwise the bike felt super solid at speed.

I'm wondering if one of the tiny windshields would actually make it better. But I kind of agree with you, everything above 90 is temporary for me nowadays. I’m passing and getting back in that 70-85 range, most of the time.

I have one of those tiny windshields on mine. If you're anywhere near Virginia, we can get together and you can try it out for yourself.

Didn't know if anyone would care this far into this post but mine hit 155mph (250kph) cbr650f 2015,

I am not sure if I had the full akro exhaust or not at this point and again im not sure if I had my new windscreen which would of reduced aero drag. I might of also been in a leather one piece which would of also reduced aero drag in my eyes massively. I might of also been going slightly down hill.

This was in the UK on the M40 after only having my bike for a few months I thought I would give it a go to max it out. I can't say I would do it again happy to do 120mph but much more in my eyes for the roads here in the UK is a bit silly. When you pass cars that seem like they aren't moving it only takes one to pull out and your in bike heaven. Given I was showing off to friends trying to race a Nissan GT R35 I can say I was thoroughly impressed and terrified.

126mph was all I could do in a full tuck on a straight and empty stretch of Hwy 67 here in Colorado. That section of the highway is right at one mile elevation, which means less air resistance but even less power.

I could barely get to 200 km/h (gps speed) with a couple of soft saddle bags and my hefty 255 pounds on my 2018 CB650F. :arghh:

Interesting... I’m curious why top speed was lowered that much with different exhaust... Were conditions roughly the same? Also, I see the ECU wasn’t re-tuned for the new exhaust but was it at least reset and given time to adjust??

125 mph (200 kmh) is the effective max speed for me. 2018 CB650F, Puig windscreen, -1 +1 sprockets, 235 pound rider. Speedo is calibrated so that's an actual 125, not an indicated 125 that's really 115. She had a little more to give, but acceleration was so slow as to not be worth going for. This was, of course, done on a private track, definitely not on I-65.

I think the cb650f its faster than new cb650r.......new one has 4 hp more but its heavier i change my exhaust with full system cs racing with rapid bike fuel controller and k&n air filter and I try top speed with stock sprocket in 5 gear hit limiter at 218km/h I didn't have chance to put 6 i did have to many cars front on me.....I bet 6 gear should top out around 228 230km/h
