CB650R Bar end mirrors

I've swapped out my bar end sliders and the internal connector and have installed bar end mirrors which in my opinion suits this bike perfectly, my problem is vibration in my right hand being quite bad, has anyone got any suggestions how to counteract this whilst still allowing me to keep these mirrors, there must be a solution as lots of bike manufacturers are now installing these ?IMG_20190922_075643588.jpgIMG_20190922_075620736.jpg

Rox makes these anti-vibration risers. Never used them so I can't give you a review. Other than that, unless you can get some really heavy bar end weights it's going to shake.

If it's only effecting your mirrors then I don't know what to tell you. If the vibrations are effecting your hands then risers or grip puppies can help.

The inner weight of the oem bar ends are vibration dampers. You created the problem when you removed them I'm afraid.

Our bikes were not designed to take bar end mirrors. If the vibration is not working for you, restoring to stock is the only path I know of.

Other bikes will be designed to have vibes removed elsewhere than inside the bars, or a specific mount point for mirrors will have been designed in.

You could check to see what aftermarket clip ons are available and replace the whole assembly. Seems excessive for mirrors to me.

Copied from your other post:

I've taken off my bar end weights and anti vibration inserts and have installed the bar end mirrirs but am getting very numb hands especially my right one through the bars, has anyone had any issues with this, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
This will sound more asshole like than it is, sorry but yeah, you’ve removed everything that can help reduce vibration so they’ll be that way. Putting them back in is your best bet.

Couple things I’d suggest:
- Sato Racing makes bar end weights and inserts that work great and will probably get your vibes back to normal. Find them on Amazon or EBay, mount your mirrors to them.
- Grip Puppies. Under $20, isolate your hands nicely.
- How many miles on your bike? I found mine to smooth out a lot after 2000 miles or so. If you don’t have that many on it, wait until it’s fully broken in before swapping mirrors.

How about finding bar end mirrors that clamp on to the bar end weights, then you can return everything to OEM and attach the mirrors to the weights.

That was the problem I found, I’ve inserted the internal damper back into the bars and have also order a pair of grip puppies, hopefully this will resolve the vibration issue, will keep you updated once I’ve fitted them.

The only issue is the weights spin, so the mirrors always end up at the bottom and/or move with the wind blast.

Yeah, not long after I posted I remembered the weights spin, then thought there must be some way of anchoring them.

I also have this issue, I used the motogadget bar end mirror. Any lads here use the same mirror brand and know how to solve this problem ?

Here is a link to the Sato inner weight bar ends:

Pull out your stock Honda weights, replace with these and mount whatever to them; I am using them for a Throttlemeister mounting kit on my Supersport. Work great and don’t spin, like $45 on eBay last time I bought them.

can you also tell me which models fit the cb650r ? really appreciate it!

They are universal, with inserts to fit different bar sizes. The different models are different bar ends, since you really aren’t using them that doesn’t matter, instead you’ll be mounting your bar end mirrors to them.

Does that make sense?

So what is it you would like to do, mount bar end mirrors?

Then buy your mirrors and a set of the Sato bar ends with the long inner weight.

Remove the inner OEM piece in the Honda handlebars, when you go to mount the new mirrors, simply replace the inner mount with the Sato long, heavy inner piece. It will make more sense once you see it all in front of you.

you are a true life-saver! So my situation is that I got the motogadget mirror and motogadget adapter.

I did not know at that time there is a inner weight inside. My local mechanic did not inform me also as they really want to sell the mirrors and the adapters. As you guys already stated the bar end mirror can not go along with the OEM inner weight as it will spin!

I guess this will solve my problem sato barend ?

Man I just want to say THANK YOU! I love my bar end mirrors and was willing to accept a little extra vibe, but long rides were getting pretty irritating. I installed these this weekend and the difference is amazing. I actually think it's better than stock now. Props!

Excellent news!!! When I was playing with bars on my NC I just couldn’t find a set that fit and when I finally did they vibrated to beat hell and made for an annoying ride. I did a lot of research as to why it vibrated so bad and how to fix it and I was playing around online, found the weights and was a happy camper after.

I’ve used them for a couple different bikes since, they work great!!!!

So yes... I was a little confused as well and decided I needed to get THE MOST WEIGHT that I could. So I already had Rizoma bar ends and mirrors. The Rizoma ends were 30mm (supposedly) so I thought... well I'll buy the Sato LONG-style bar ends in the heavy stainless steel (which are 30mm) with the Inner Weights. However, my mirrors did not fit those bar ends. They were slightly different from the Rizoma ends. The good news was, the Rizoma ends matched perfectly to the new Inner Weights. I just screwed them in place of Rizoma hardware and bam... winning!! So basically I spent a bit more than I needed to because all I needed were the Inner Weights. I don't know what you have already, but as long as you get the inners, you're probably chill. You're going to love them! Buy with confidence and Sato shipped amazingly fast!!
