Danil @Danil there are dozens of things that can turn on the MIL. Retrieval of the DTC(s) are the starting point.
Thank you for your reply! I just visited the dealer and they read the pair valve error. It is interesting that I drove 4000 km without this error and now it appears. Today I will disassemble and look, probably something happened to the resistor ...

Thanks. That was my guess as well. Either it popped loose or got damaged?

One thing I’ve noticed is a very strong petrol fumes smell since blocking off pair valve, particularly strong when starting the bike up or coming to a stop at traffic lights etc... is this normal?

This is what happened with the socket and resistor :( I am just wondering what could be the reason? Bad quality of the resistor? Water-damage?

My first guess go for water damage.
For that reason since I couldn't find the male connector I’ve shrunk wrapped the resistor, isolated with silicone grease and covered with a cut thumb from a glove (call me paranoid...)

Good tips! I would not say that it is paranoid :) In my case, I am not sure about water-damage, as I also did something similar with electrical tape and resin cover of the socket. The problem is that the insulation and rubber layer have been burned by a resistor due to heating... That is why I am not sure that it is a good idea to isolate it completely as it can overheat as it has happened in my case...

That’s a 1/4 watt resister and looks like a combination of heat and water damage. I’d get a 1 or 2 watt resister (or even higher, it’s heat dissipation that you need) and seal it up better from the elements.

Shocking news after Danil’s post got me curious and had a peek on my resistor and found it like this no engine warning yet this is the one I’ve used :

Huh, the earlier one looked like a 1/4 or 1/2 watt to me but it's hard to tell exactly without context of how big it is. If yours truly is a 1 or 2 watt resister, then I would step up to a 5 or 10 watt unit. Obviously there's some heat there, way more than everyone thought.

Now I’m Confused! according to the shop manual and the readings from the PAIR valve it did was in spec
Unless there is something else to consider 🤔

I'm worried about mine now, I'm going to have to strip it out and check for peace of mind this weekend. I fitted. a 27ohm 2w resistor and I've done nearly 2000 miles since i done the pair valve deletion
