Throttle control is soooo much better at lower RPM! The bike runs better after blocking the pipe. And the bike is also quieter at idle RPM.

But now there's a strong smell coming from the exhaust... Do you think this will damage the Cat? My exhaust is stock.

Blocked my PAIR today ( akarapovic exhaust)

Huge noticable improvement in throttle transition. It feels pinpoint sensitive, Rolling on and off the throttle feels completely different and smooth. I wish I had done this sooner.

When engine braking my akra had what I call a rediculous "oklahoma thunderstorm" rumble, which is completely gone as well. Not feeling much difference cruising in lower RPMs outside of the throttle response. One thing nobody mentioned but it now obvious, upshifting feels soo much better as a side effect of the throttle. Feels like a different bike almost.

Everything I've seen says do not remove the PAIR if you have a cat as one of it's primary functions is for proper operation of it.

I can not understand a single word in the video linked above, but if all that is needed is blocking that one hose then why go through all the hassle of removing the valve like explained in this thread? Does blocking off this one hose really achieve the same results as removing the whole system?

Why going through the hassle or removing everything? I guess we are just obsessed with perfection 🤣🤣
And yes, blocking that hose you’ll get the same results

Just an FYI, covered elsewhere but the PAIR is only used at idle and slightly off-idle. If your bike spends a lot of time idling then your cat performance will be less. It will not kill the cat, it just will not be operating 100%. Since very few of us sit and idle for extended periods of time, its a non-issue.

I'm going to lock this thread, as we have two separate ones. Please continue to contribute to the updated one:
