Just reading the posts on fitting the gear indicator. Is it possible to fit the indicator without removing any panels. From what I can see some say yes others say no. The bike I have is new and don't really want to remove any panels.

I removed a screw on a rear panel under the seat to get the cable into the battery area and did not have to remove any front fairings (I managed to fish the wire through the front well enough).

depends on how you want the installation to look. The connector to plug in is under the seat and you will want the gear indicator by the instrument panel so you need to run the wire from point A to point B. You can do that w/o removing panels but you will most likely have a wire dangling out somewhere.

I didn't remove a single fairing to install mine down the left side (2014 model).

Can anyone confirm if there is anything suitable for the 2018 model CBR650F ABS? All searching online shows units compatible with bikes up to 2017 but none specifically reference the 2018 model.
Fail to see why they wouldn't fit the 2018 but don't want to waste my money...

I had thought about that location but I opted to put up on the handlebar. It's within view without having to look down at it. But you did a nice job on it.

For my height is in my line of sight , is almost the same angle of the dash just a little forward , but because is retro illuminated you don't have any problem reading it , for the contrary it helps on direct sunlight conditions to easy reading ( giving to the gear indicator some shadow )

I don't need a gear indicator.. that's what I thought until I hit the race track when constant attention on my riding is required at all times. I decided to get one but Healtech is insanely expensive. Not a fan of Chinese knockoffs due to past bad experience, still I gave it a try as it cost less than USD17.. I decided to attach it next to the ignition switch using Velcro and surprisingly it turned out very well..! Wires are hidden neatly and looks like part of the motorcycle.. Feeling racey I decided red. Besides that, other colours was taken by the turn signal, high beam and my tire pressure monitoring. Lets hope this Chinese knockoff can last some time.. Cheers :)
