56.52mpg is still pretty amazing for a 650cc 4 cylinder. If I remember correctly I could sometimes get close to that on stock gearing, but now on 14/43 gearing I'm definitely on the lower end of the spectrum.
Wow
Amazing mileage my average mpg is 43 !
Might need to go into those higher gears

CB650R owner here. Just been out to look at mine. I did 600 enthusiastic miles in the Lake District over the weekend and the computer is showing 50.9mpg.

I'm pretty sure I can get it to 60mpg on the motorway but not much higher

Hi
I'm on cbr650r
I've got a place at Skipton so I also ride up there but I'm not getting any mpg close to yours ,
She's had a few mods done maybe it's that ?

~50/50 mix city vs. highway and got an astounding 47.7 on my fill up today. As noted I pretty much ride it like it was stolen and have 14/43 gearing so definitely possible that the OP is seeing much higher and near 60mpg.

Perhaps - have you had yours mapped?
I rode up via Skipton and stopped in Settle on the way there - some great roads in your part of the world too!

I live in Bradford just use my place in Skipton at weekends and use my bike everyday for commuting and weekends for enjoyment rides however as I said think the best I've seen is 46mpg ! And my average is 43mpg ,
Maybe it's my style of riding?

She's got a full deltivic titanium exhaust upgraded air filter and a custom tune ,quick shifter and runs perfectly
I was pretty happy with my mpg until I've seen others ,
Just wondering are the quoted mpgs on your bikes stock no mods ?

I’ve not personally ridden an R model but I know ~50mpg was achievable on my 650F fairly easily on the highway. I’d be surprised at 60mpg+ especially if trying to keep up with a V4S, no matter what fuel is used, but what do I know?

The 47.7 I just recorded was with the Akra and baffle removed, but no PC5 yet. It seems like my MPG went up with both the baffle out and the shorter gearing. I used to average around 110 miles before I got the flashing light, but I'm now consistently in the 125-130 range before it even starts to flash.

As far as I know the only engine changes from yours to mine were the Euro 5 tweaks which are mainly exhaust, don’t think there is any effect on power and not heard any claims re improved economy on the 2021 model.
I will keep checking the actual MPG on each tank to see what it averages the 56MPG was on a longish ride (Alderley Edge to Sleaford way) so around 100 miles but it was the twisty roads over the pennies with very little ideal carriageway and while O wasn’t caning it I was using using the power to overtake where I could etc.
Will see how it goes.

Are you manually calculating or using the dash MPG?

Are you manually calculating or using the dash MPG?
Was very surprised by the numbers on the dash which for my ride back from Cheshire were low 60’s which was hard to credit.
Filled up yesterday and calculated it based on actual litres used from Full to refilled and 101 miles which was 8.06 litres so the 56.5 figure was calculated.
Obviously you can be completely certain the two fills were to an identical level so I will keep checking the numbers on the dash and the actual litres used and see what settles out but on the surface the 56.5 should be close which is still remarkable given Hondas quoted WULTP figure of 48!
And that’s not riding for economy either.

One last note on this subject from me and more of a general question. The speedometer is known to have a factory error. Do manufacturer stated MPG's account for the error or will owner measured MPG's actually be higher due to the error? It's probably insignificant either way, but just a general query.

I personally found that while the speedometer is usually optimistic, the odometer is pretty accurate on all sorts of bikes, from all manufacturers.

But I have also found the measured vs. actual mpg's on both motorcycles and vehicles to always be different. Sometimes hugely, sometimes it's minor. My Jeep is pretty close but still reads better than actual, my Chevy's are always about 10% high, most import vehicles are close or within a few percentage points, my Ducati is surprisingly close, my Honda's are always higher than actual. Not sure why or how, though.

Surprisingly I've found my closest in terms of accuracy is my 2021 Mustang GT. It's within 5-7%, but its owner calibratable so you can get it nearly dead on. My 05 Toyota V8 4runner is comically inaccurate. Routinely 20-25% high - which is truly heartbreaking since it reports only mid-15's. lol My Accord is just a tad more optimistic than the Ford.

I get between 240 and 270km to a full tank, works out about 52-55mpg calculated. Tbh I've never paid attention to the trip calculator. They're always optimistic in any vehicle and working it out yourself is the best way. Doing just that with my TNT now to see what mpg that does.

Update done another 101 miles and topped off the tank again ready to go for a long ride with my son again tomorrow! Did the maths 101.1 miles (spooky same as last time!) and 7.85 litres which works out to 58.0 MPG indicated was 62!
Some back road playing but a trip on the A15 into Lincoln and back means there was around 30 miles of that at a fairly stead 60 MPH bar overtakes.
So still showing real MPG’s well in excess of Hondas claims!
You would think if the 2021 model had some major improvements to fuel consumption Honda would redo the tests and be making it part of the sales pitch!
So still baffled by the numbers!

That's pretty decent. Are you exercising the gearbox or spending most time in second / third?

No use all the gears.
When sitting on straight roads with traffic around speed limits will cruise in sixth then drop a couple or three to overtake.
Will spend more time in lower gears when having some fun round the twisties though 👍

Mystery solved.
All the reviews I read weren’t quoting the official MPG figures and the 48MPG I had been seeing was obviously journos ragging it pretty hard.

Official Honda MPG of the 2022 CBR650R is shown below in km/l as 20.4
Converting to MPG gives 57.2 MPG.
So the 58 ish read measured figure is about right though perhaps closer to the official figure than I would expect as I haven’t been cruising it most of the time. The dash 62 MPG figure is clearly a bit on the hopeful side however!
