It's not often you NEED to remap when fitting a new exhaust- Its just 'wasted potential' - with a fresh exhaust AND a remap, you'll make some small, but noticeable gains.
Ah look, everything you say is bang-on true, I'm just a young fella who wants to take my turn and try all sorts of different options, because well- why not? Ride everything!
I've always had a sweet spot for older bikes, but realistically it would be silly to get rid of my 650 anytime soon. There...
Alot of the reason I spent so much money on my CBR is because its hands-down the best Restricted (LAMS) model bike I can buy in Western Australia; on the premise of de-restricting it, then having the quickest "LAMS" motorcycle available. (I honestly wouldn't be remotely interested in riding the...
Well thats the thing, I've soaked and cleaned it twice (I used to be a detailer for a short period so I consider myself not too bad) - but the residues from some of the bugsplats are still visible in the right light.
Doesn't help that I'm in Aus, those bug splats spent all weekend baking in 33...
Yeah not sure- I just had a big roadtrip weekend away and my Gloss black got COVERED in bug splats- I'm pretty good at cleaning things but i just cannot seem to get the residues off yet.. think I might give it a heavy Cut, Polish, then seal with Ceramic coating
Intakes/Air Filter/ Exhaust should all be fine.
Power commander might not be.. Pretty sure for 2021 with the Euro5 engine no one has released a compatible PC yet.
When I got mine tuned someone did mention they could cut/resplice the wires/plugs to fit it to a '21 model, however I can't...
How good is this?
On the right, My 2021 CBR650R
On the left, My closefriend/housemate's freshly acquired 2019 CB650R
It took a bit of persuading, but he was in the market for a new Sportbike after not riding for 6 months, and eventually I convinced him that the 650R's are the best you'll find :D
I test-rode a Ninja 650 the other day for the first time and first impression over the CBR was "Wow- this is really comfortable. I could happily commute for MILES on this"
But then the rest of the bike was just so.. tame. I just didn't find any excitement out of it. I used to ride an MT07 and...
Hey man.. the man you bought your bike off- it wasn't THIS guy was it?

Woohoo! Booked in to get on the track for the first time on Sunday. Not just my first time with the CBR, but my first time ever!
I'm a pretty confident rider, and the CBR absolutely boosts that, however I do have my concerns surrounding tyres..
I know that generally the Dunlop SportMax's are...
Yeah surely they wouldn't have changed the swingarm, I've read a lot of 2021 vs 2019 reviews and absolutely no mentions of Swingarm in the past.
Most things from the 19/20 fit the '21 I believe.
I instead recently opted for a universal paddock stand. Couldn't be bothered installing spools...
There was a recent similar thread following the same issue. Aussie LAMS bike gets ECU flash, then TC issues.
Unfortunately, I think the Aussie bikes either require a really professional flash, or a proper Dyno Tune.
I got my 21' Euro5 650R Dynotuned and have had zero issues with the traction...
