I fitted one new louder snail horn ( because nobody has replied to my query on fitting twin horns !!! ) but I had to make a bracket extension so the horn cleared the coolant hose ( it isn't possible to remove the bolt that holds the original horn bracket without removing the rubber coolant hose !) Anyway the horn is quite heavy and will bounce about on the bracket when riding so I am not sure it will be adequate. Why do some motorcycle horns seem to have been added to the bike as an afterthought ,in a location that isn't quite right.
ps Grounghog Day 42 , going to Aldi in the car tomorrow, wow.

I thought taking an unknown battery apart could provide some of the excitement that is absent in my life while the lockdown is in place. A chum of mine wants a 6v lithium battery for a vintage bike he is restoring and it seems they are not available. The 12v battery I took apart was bought for a 72 Honda CB550 and never used. 15A 6v LiFePo4 BMS boards can be had on eBay for about £15. So, reconfigure the 4s 2p pack into a 2s 4p configuration add the BMS and it looks like it should work. Any how thats beside the point. I have added the pictures of the battery disassembly should you be curious as to what goes on inside. There was no excitement as it came apart quite easily as the photos show. I might add that prior to retirement my job as a power sources engineer did involve a lot of lithium batteries so I had some some idea of what I was doing. :)

Another 250 Ninja carbset done today, from/to. Beyond jets, pilot and float circuits badly clogged. Owner experienced extreme tank rust issues, obvious fouled fuel. No, I didn't just clean the visible stuff and call it a day, totally split, disassembled, multiple machine cleaned, new orings and hardware all around. Wet tested fuel levels, tweaked as needed, while assuring no leaky anywhere. (If they screw up, I want it to be during testing on *my* end, before being reinstalled and run by owner)

Not that I know much at what I'm looking at there ducatiman @ducatiman but it does look incredible what you're able to do.

Brammers @Brammers doing his own valve clearances looked scary enough to me. I admire you guys for having the skills to work on machine parts.

The formerly spitting, sputtering, loudly popping Honda 750 Shadow is done and complete. Now impressive throttle response, a successful victim of my carb voodoo. Fully serviced and fully rideable, though the open, loud fishtail exhaust is utterly obnoxious, IMHO.....back to owner it goes. And today has officially left the building. Direct quote via text from owner "unbelievable, great throttle response, no hesitations, just perfect".

That looks absolutely stunning. Is that the OEM windscreen? How well does it deflect the oncoming turbulence compared to not having it installed?

And what mudguard are you using at the rear? Would be nice not getting a wet arse every time it's rained. 🧐

Seriously, slick looking modifications!

Thanks man, I think I achieved the sweet spot and I'm really in love with my CB (missing the exhaust at the moment since it has been sent back bc defective)

Yes that's the OEM Honda Windscreen, it does not really cover that much. I also have the Puig that is much taller but I'm keeping it for winter time and long trips, much better this one.

This is the mudguard, Looks very good on the bike, have not tested it in the rain yet.

Definitely! You've managed to add stuff without losing the essence of the bike. It looks more practical and more stylish simultaneously.

That's a shame. I like how understated it looks compared to the taller alternatives, though it of course makes sense that'd hinder performance.

I'd love an update once it's been trialled by fire! Thanks for the link!

Sadly my new bike has been locked away as i'm considered high risk during the pandemic and am not allowed out!
So i've been indulging my other passion which is listening to and collecting vinyl.
I've been buying far too many lps lately. Must stop!!!
