When mine resonates it feels like it coming from the tank. It's an odd sensation. It's most obvious in 6th gear but I live with it if it's on the motorway, otherwise I just drop down to get the revs up

I never had any issues with vibrations but I'm doing a giveaway for weighted bar ends if anyone is interested:

All I can say is they work as I have had mine on for over 6 years now. I still get a little bit of vibs. over 7000 rpms but nothing to worry about.

Above 230kmh+ I'm more concerned about traffic in front of me on the Autobahn, but when winter is over I'll slow down to a crawl of around 190 to check out any vibrations.

Hi,
Does anyone else notice high frequency vibration on their bikes?
I found it to be quite intrusive when accelerating hard which is strange as when I had a test ride on another bike a few days before I didn't notice it.
The test bike was fitted with a Yoshimura full system so may be that helped with the vibes?
The vibrations are there, around 6000 rpm. I partly solved it with the Grip Puppies over-grips, the best! Then I'll move on to the rubber footboards, bye.

Ordered some grip puppies today, I dont know if it was them temperature or that I haven't ridden in 5 years but my hands were cramping on the stock grips. I also ordered a throttle rocker/cramp buster. The stock rubber footboards look ugly.

I'm sorry ... they partially solved me. the platforms purchased on Aliexpress. I'm trying some neoprene rings around the fork tubes in proximity of the handlebars, let's see if it works ...

After a recent 2400kms road trip and over 11000kms on the bike, the vibrations in mine persist. Those coming through the handlebars are tolerable, albeit annoying when touring. But, the resonant frequency that makes the entire bike shake hasn't dissipated over the life of the bike and is beyond annoying (though it is a bit funny to mess with my girl from time to time when shes with me). I like the bike, and I know I can "ride around" these vibrations, but i don't think I should have to. It's one of the reasons I will be looking to move to a new platform later this year.

I mounted (not easily) a USB socket with a voltmeter interlocked with a battery disconnect button and a safety fuse. Then I'm trying to eliminate some vibrations with these neoprene tricks around the fork tubes and on the plate. Tell me what you think, then I'll tell you if they work ... bye.20210413_084635.jpg20210413_084525.jpg20210413_084710.jpg

What have you done to remedy them? And what have you swapped or modified on your bike, anything that could increase vibrations? Have they gotten better as time has gone on or changed in any way?

If I had vibrations that I couldn’t get rid of the first thing I’d do is a full retorque of the engine mounts, then I’d start looking into things like exhaust mounts, and mods I’ve done to bars, pegs, brakes, fender eliminators, etc. that are vibrating or could. Have you tried a set of 650F pegs with the rubber inserts?

I’m not saying you don’t have an issue or shouldn’t move on, just asking what you’ve done to minimize them. A 4 cylinder will be buzzy and vibe, especially one built like this one is. You may want to look at another engine config for your next bike.

I have not said that I have eliminated them entirely, but that I have limited them. 1 I have mounted gear / rear brake pegs with rubber. 2 neoprene knobs. 3 neoprene shirts around the fork legs. 4 Neoprene on the center plate of the fork. the vibrations are not totally eliminable ... it is precisely the type of engine and frame that transmit them, but they only annoy the handlebars. I have the problem of my hands getting numb, like in mtb.

As you can see, I have had a lot of motion, but more or less they all vibrated. Perhaps the Yamaha Tracer 900 a little less than the others. The last one I had is the 4-cylinder Kawasaki Z 1000 SX, great for traveling fast, but that vibrated too ... The vibrations that bother the most are the high frequency ones.

Off topic, but do you have any issues with general numbness in the hands when not on the CBR650R? Reason I ask is that I recently found out my numbness was a carpal tunnel issue. The CBR would make my hands incredibly numb in 30-40mins. I thought it was just the bike, but mentioned it in a physical and found that I had moderate carpal tunnel syndrome. Got it treated and now the vibration doesn't bother my hands in the slightest bit. It's night and day difference! Just a thought.

Thanks for your experience. I too have a neuropathy problem in the peripheral limbs, (non-curable syndrome) which causes numbness in my hands even when tightening shopping bags, or cutting with scissors! But the fact remains that the CBR vibrates a lot.

For the first year on my 2018 cb650f I was getting numb hand and tingle feel. I installed a pair of Grip Puppies and that solve the issue completely for me. It did make the throttle quicker to twist being as the diameter is larger now, but that can be a good thing ;-).

Aside from that issue with the hands I don't feel any intrusive vibration. Pretty smooth overall.

Mostly attempted to adjust my riding so I don't experience them as often. The changes on the bike are done at the tail and everything is secured, the exhaust which has neither increased or decreased vibrations, engine cases to the cb650f ones, and cb650f pegs. The vibrations have been constant and consistent from about 12kms when I picked it up, much as I can remember. I've held on because enough people said they'd dissipate after 4000-6000kms and I'd enjoy it more.

The Ive had two dealerships look the bike all over and they've had no idea what I could be feeling. Riding my friend's 650r is nearly identical. The entire bike shakes. It's honestly most annoying that I feel it on my inner thighs, like those plastic inserts below the tank, but they're secured in their rubber isolators.

The CB400SF and CB1300 that I rode didnt appear to have the issues this has, both being I4s as well. But I only rode them about 100kms total as rentals. I'm looking at a Triumph as my next bike at the moment, but, we'll see.

As for me, the answer is no. Carpal tunnel is probably creeping on me, though. I ride my friends Speed Twin or CRF1100 with no issue at all and my old Ninja never gave me this sort of issue.

Sounds like you’ve been working on a few things, doing pretty much what has been suggested. My 650 started “smoothing out” around the 2500 mile mark and really smoothed out past the 3500 mile mark, but was still a buzzy 4 cylinder all the time I owned it. I sold it not too far after that so I’m not sure if by 6,000 or 8,000 it was any better.

As you said in the end, you rode two different style twins and didn’t have vibration issues, rode two 650s and had felt the same vibration issues and while you rode a CB400 and CB1300, both 4s and didn’t have any issues in the short time you rode between the two, I’d say you are just susceptible to the frequency the 650 has and will always be feeling it. Kind of once-you-know-about-it, you’ll-always-know-about-it things. I know I’m borderline annoyed by 4s, the bigger ones don’t seem to bother me as much but the 650 was always there in the hands and legs to some extent. It wasn’t until I got the big Triumph triple and Ducati twin I realized how much I did actually feel it and had just gotten used to it after 10-15 years on 4s.

Might be time for a change, but be sure you ride the new steed a while to be sure you’re getting into something that won’t bother you long term. The Triumph triple is a great motor, as are the big twins, so good luck in your search.

Hi,
about handlebar vibrations ... I tried to remove the internal pins from the grips and fill the semi-handlebars with sand, but in vain ... I am getting the best result by restoring the internal pins, with its counterweights , neoprene grips on the original grips and neoprene insulating tubes on the fork tubes, like those for the hydraulic lines. VIBRATIONS ARE ALREADY ACCEPTABLE..

I installed heavy stainless barends with internal weighting by Sato Racing. Unfortunately, I don’t notice a reduction in vibrations on my 2020 CBR650R… barends look nice though :)
