Good to hear Honda is prepared to provide a new bike! I hope that will be the end of your problems!

My bike is in the shop at this moment to get the second water pump replacement. Fingers crossed!

interesting the lack of US forum member/owners reporting these issues here
You know, I thought the same thing when I was thinking about this a week or so ago. Not sure what it means other than an interesting point but the vast majority of the 19/20 oil leaks are not US.

Certainly difficult for an outsider to analyze and establish a "trend". Actual input from Honda USA would reveal. Is it truly a lack of water pump defects in US models? Or simply indicative of US members not seeing and posting such here? Explanation difficult, not factual based, but yes, an interesting assessment nonetheless.

I asked my dealer if he thinks putting a new pump for the second time will solve the issue because it didn't solve it last time.
He said it's the only thing that really can be done, and he thinks it must have been a bad badge of pumps (like some people here where thinking already).

So maybe.. that bad badge was shipped completely to the European and Asian markets?

The previous replacement pump took 3 days to arrive, now I have to wait much longer (about a month) because it's on backorder. So I'm hoping that's a good sign, and that it will be a pump from another badge.

But as you said, we will never know for sure unless Honda gives more information. (Which I don't think will happen)

Dunno if they are obligated to public disclosure of such service related matters, unless it reaches actual recall status.
Bad batches are a possibility, sure hope the next batch is a cure for those involved. Perhaps Honda will do a (behind the scenes) tweak or correction in manufacturing, as result of the numerous Euro pump issues.
Please post results going forward.

For me the first and only pump replacement solved the problem. Ordering the pump and got it on the bike took my dealer two days In totaal. Until now the pump is bone dry, is this pump coming from a good batch? or is it just luck that the pump is still running like it should 🤷‍♂️

Gonna post my thoughts since never actually mentioned anything
I kept an eye on this “possible issue” on my bike
And it was hard to tell if the “oil leak” was caused by the bad pump, or caused by the chain being lubed having the oil dripping down from the front sprocket

did simulate quite a few things to take variables out, like cleaning the area around the sprocket after a week from lubing the chain, and found a few times some oil drops on the floor, the oil streak at the bottom of the engine and around the oil filter, everything seemed to be coming from the water pump
All of this was happening mostly after long rides, at least a couple of hours.

since the bike is in the shop, I told them to take a look at it and let me know

How long did the first water pump started to leak?

any other US members experiencing w pump leak issues?

Periodically checking here....slight presence of chain lube goop (I switched brands) easily discernible from coolant or oil (of which there is none)

Not US, but Canada. Just got a brand new water pump put in. So far, no leaks. However, I havent ridden it much so no proper stress tests on it yet.
Looking better vs. when I simply got the O-ring changed - it leaked right away after riding 4 kms.

The bike is still in the shop. Water pumps were not in stock. It's in backorder and should arrive end september. I'll give an update after the pump is replaced.

So, the pump got replaced 2 weeks ago.
Because of the bad weather I only managed to do 2 dry rides, and it doesn't leak anymore.
I will keep checking for leaks after my next rides, I really hope the problem is solved now.

Side note: while the bike was in the shop the quickshifter was also installed. I absolutely love it! Really smooth and fun to use. Only downside is that now it's even more difficult to ride below the speed limit 😀.

I've got just under 1000 miles on my 2019 that was purchased in June and it's bone dry. I'll keep checking periodically, but all seems to be in order now. Hopefully it was just a small batch of units that were defective and not a larger problem.

This issue is apparently not that common in Canada, at least. My service advisor contacted Honda Tech Line and said that they have not heard of issues with CB650R's leaking oil. However, they do not share database with Tech Line Europe from what I was told.
My friend and I bough two 2020 CB650R in Canada and within a week of riding it, they are both leaking. Taking them in tomorrow to be fix, I hope!

Are there any News from someone with this Problem, Bought my Bike in August this Year and after 7.000km or so I noticed the leak.
I come from Germany.

The problem seems to be fixed by replacing the water pump on my bike. (2 times)
I haven't been able to do a very long ride since the last replacement, only short ones, and also not in hot temperatures.
I will keep checking the bike after every ride, until next summer, just to be sure the problem is completely gone before the warranty ends.
But for now, it seems to be ok!
