By the way l fitted a gear shaft support bearing in readiness for the QS you maybe able to just see it in the picture, belt n braces really, cant say it makes the gear change any better ..

Reduce play in the shaft to minimize gear selection problems, grab hold of the splined shaft on a cb650 and other bikes you'll feel play up and down. The bearing stops any play

What a blast!!!
Do not hesitate it's a must

I have thought about it, but sometimes like the manual operation of having to shift and use a clutch. I feel a quickshifter is absolutely needed for a track bike, but on the street I feel like it would get annoying in normal daily commute/cruise scenarios. Only really shines when you have an open road and rip it.

You still need to downshift just like normal correct? To "quickshift" down, you would need an auto-blip yes? So downshifts are still the same as usual?

Yes l agree with you, a QS is a bit pointless for normal road use, it was an extra l haggled a deal for when l bought the bike in Dec 2019. Not really used it properly yet, all l know is it works on up shifts only, most of the time l shift gears manually using the clutch

I had the QS installed when I bought the bike. It has made me so lazy with upshifts as I use it all the time except for slow crawls requiring shifting 1 to 2. My upshifting has gotten so sloppy now with this convenient device.

Completely agree, the Honda QS is just a bit of bling, token jesture really. Regards Jluu's comment he uses his all the time isn t it a bit too clunky to be using a QS at low revs? Not yet tried it properly but scared l'd wreck the gearbox it might be so clunky ;-(

My patience was gone last week! Send some emails to Honda regarding my Quick shifter! Ordered on 22-1-2020 and still nothing! They said I had to contact the dealer, but the Honda dealerships in the Netherlands are kept in the dark with delivery dates! I emailed Honda to explain them that it’s not the dealership fault but Honda who is hiding behind there dealerships and not delivering Quick shifters an tell there customers to sort it out with there dealer.
Honda send me a email back, where they asking me for a order number. I told them that this is not the way it works, dealerships normally don’t give order numbers to there customers. Honda kept insisting for the order number, so I called my dealer and they gave it to me. (I kept my dealer informed about all my email actions towards Honda). Now the best part is coming, Honda contacted my dealer and told them, that they shouldn’t give order numbers to there customers 🤔! My dealer backed me up and told them that they read all the emails from me with Honda an that this wasn’t okay how Honda is treading there customers and dealerships! After this argument with Honda and my dealer, Honda send me a email, that the Quick shifter will be delivered this week at my dealer.

I shift around 5000-6000rpm with the QS normal street riding. Actually quite smooth!

Seems Honda aren't what they used to be, l've gone grey chasing matters with Honda customer services. They are so slow to respond and tend to give a couldn t care less, generic response. Sorry l cant help other than to say they really did drop the ball regards the supply of QS's but you will get it. My advice, now l've seen how they are made (rose joint built into the unit) to be honest would buy an aftermarket one, some change up and down and have autoblip while the Honda QS only does upshifts ! At over £300 the Honda one isn t cheap either

Well the update on my long awaited quick shifter just fitted at my first service, after a long ride out today decided its not for me. For smooth gear changes you need to be quite high up the rev range as Honda, after having problems with the early quick shifters causing damage to gearboxes they've seemed to have played safe and extended the kill time making lower rpm gear changes a bit snatchy for my liking. If you do track days or ride hard its fine, l dont as l mostly commute to work on the bike and so have no use for it and its up for sale after one days use! The only reason l got it in the first place was that l was trying to get the best deal when l bought the bike new and the dealer offered me the QS at a reduced price. (Little did l know l'd be waiting 6 months for it ) £308 new at Padgetts Honda, looking for £170 posted everything back in the box after one days use if anyones interested.

That ... sucks massively. What a let-down. Is there no way of adjusting the cut time? QS are indeed normally operated at peak revs and full throttle, but that doesn't mean the action should be lurchy at part revs.... 😠

Its not lurchy it just not smooth at low revs, fine at high revs but thats not how l ride so feel its wasted.

No adjustment on the cut time that l know of, as a genuine Honda part it just plugs into the loom and the ecu see's it and thats it as far as l know?
