Still waiting for that part, unfortunately.
They told me it is expected to arrive the 2nd week of October now !!
It is getting a lot colder outside lately. I hope I get my bike back before it has to be put into winter hibernation.
I asked about my key - (the fact it is likely also "worn") - and he said they always send new keys with a new ignition.
Hope they program it to work with my existing locks - or I guess I'll just have 2 sets for the bike.

Got my bike back with its new ignition (and new key).
Now I have to carry around 2 keys (ignition, and gas.cap/seat).
This new ignition starts buzzing at a slightly higher rpm than my old one, and is actually louder/worse-sounding than the old one.
I hate that sound, as it completely ruins the beautiful engine/intake sound that comes with the higher rpm band.
I researched this on other forums for other bikes. Seems like this buzzing ignition issue happens on other 4cyl bikes as well.
So much for my thoughts of changing my cbr to a zx6r to escape the issue !
I will just have to wear my earplugs more often, and hopefully the ignition does not fail on me again (or I will find a cliff to dump it off of).

There is a solution - the misters Akrapovic should help you drown the buzzing out ;-). But glad to hear you got the bike back.

Here's something that I thought about doing (If it was ME, doing the ignition dissassembly):
I would remove ALL of those pins and springs from the ignition.
With ALL the pins removed, there would be nothing left to rattle around in there, (I think).
The downside would be that any key, screwdriver, paperclip could start your bike, lol.
I suppose that's not too bad, considering (you) would be the only one who knew the secret.

I noticed a buzzing on mine yesterday similar to as described in this thread, I took it out last week and there was no buzzing at all, the only difference being in-between rides I installed a quadlock pro in the stem at front of bike and a tail tidy at the rear, both are nice and tight. It has just clocked on to 630 miles so also now needs its first service.

It definitely buzzes but come on how sensitive do you guys have to be that it bothers you so much?

It's a motorbike not a sofa on wheels.
I don’t hear any noise from mine, but my hearing is the greatest. I’m only bothered by the keys being damaged from the vibration.

WiganCBR650F....THANKS for this !
Now you have me thinking....maybe this buzzy sound is actually coming from the Quad Lock assembly versus the ignition.

***Can you please do some more rides, with and without the Quad Lock installed, as a definitive test, and report back here ?

Looking at the (timing) of my own experience:
I installed my QuadLock in April 2021 (base, plus the vibration dampener accessory).
I usually always rode with earplugs - (and you can't hear the buzzing with earplugs in).
My first post in this thread was September 2021 - which is when I first (noticed) the buzzy sound - (while NOT wearing earplugs).
It is entirely possible that the buzzy sound started because of the QL - but I did not notice it until I just happened to ride without earplugs - toward the end of the season - in September !

I look forward to the results of your testing - with QL and without QL installed.
I will be doing my own testing in the spring (March/April 2023) - to test this myself.
I sure HOPE this is what's going on - as I love my bike, but HATE that loud buzzy sound in the sweet-spot of the most enjoyable RPMS !
If it turns out to be the Quad Lock after all this - you can guess what I'll be doing with it, lol !
(BTW, my QL let me down this year - basically unscrewed itself - contrary to all the loctite it had - and my phone fell off the bike at highway speed).
So, as you can guess - my opinion of QL is not high right now anyway - and if it is proven to be the source of the buzzing - I am going to build a special fire for it to burn in.

I have recently ditched the earplugs for downtown commute rides(because they are short & slow anyway) and that's exactly when I started hearing that buzz from the frontal area of the bike. Mine starts buzzing as low as 3-4k rpm.
I shall check the keybox, the plastic surrounding the keybox, clutch lever, and air intake shrouds. Fingers Xed my friends

Looks like the noise is coming from the radiator protector. It makes contacts with the radiator support.
It should be resolved with cushion tapes on frontal sides of the radiator (just like Evotech recommends for their product) and a bit of sandpaper grinding with the upper plastic support, but I'm not sure if I really want to commit at the moment. Installing that protector was a pain in the ass and I'm afraid to repeat it all over again.

Reassembled the radiator guard but unfortunately the buzz is still there. Now it feels like it's coming from behind the right air intake shroud where the electric cables are. I will take apart the plastic shroud and adjust the cables with electric tape.

I lightly lubricated my ignition and the key wear has pretty much disappeared, not sure why it happened. Also changed the front sprocket up a tooth so it’s not vibrating so much at 100km/h on a two lane highway.
I know icemankent solved his issue on another thread…. If there’s a particular buzzing sound it can take awhile to find while riding so best of luck.
