I already change the stock rear Roadtec 01 to another Roadtec 01, the previous one had 23000km and around 3000km left but it started to be square in the middle so it's time to change. I would think about 02 when it came time to change the front that is still in good condition after that mileage.Diablo rosso basically dead after 4k km, as anyone tried the metzeler roadtec 02 ? They inspire me for some reason
Don't believe 100% on their marketing campaigns. This new metzeler is named as a "super-sport touring tire" thanks to their adaptive compound, maybe is too many things for a tire, maybe works well
Sport-touring tyres are very good though. They generally have a harder compound in the middle for mileage and then softer compound at the edges for grip when you are riding hard. I have the Roadtec 02 on my bike and they have been great. You can hustle them pretty quickly and they still stick. That being said, my front tyre is almost due for replacement and I think I might try the Michelin Power 6 this time.Don't believe 100% on their marketing campaigns.
A good touring tyre must have good durability and that means harder compound, less grip, less sporty. While a good sport tyre will be softer and with less durability. There's no perfect, do it all, tyre. You always loose something to get something in return.
Before buying the Road 6, the Dunlop Mutants were on my list. They also call it a super tyre to do everything (touring, sport, off-road). I never believed that. I just had them on my list because I believe they might be better at touring than anything else.
Any tyre can do anything! I did an off-road trail with lots of rocks with Road 2 tyres on a naked. Crazy adventure! 😅
But they can't do everything well!
You just have to find the ones with the right balance between what you want / like. If you think the Roadtecs are good for you, then go ahead and try them. No one else rides like you. So no one else, but you, can tell if they're perfect for you.
