CBR650R First service done! And a few mods

Hello everyone Been a bit MIA recently but I took the bike on its first service and it absolutely feels new again. Unfortunately the bubble screen hasn't arrived as of yet which sucks! But managed a few pictures thought I'd post in TomTom rider 550 installed Evotech radiator guard installed...

CB650F Suggestion, chain adjustment alignment marks?

Would it be a bad idea to measure out tick marks and punch them with a Flathead/hammer or with a punch to gently mark the swingarm? Since the aftermarket spools cover the original alignment marks. photo for idea

CB650F Swingarm spool affect chain tension alignment??

It looks like the R&G spool for the CB650F would not allow you to align both sides using the little tick marks in the swingarm.... Anyone have input? They arrive tomorrow & I want to install them but not if it makes things harder for me.. when I adjust my chain tension in the future how will I...

    Honda MCI/MCS scan tool information

I was fortunate to call in a favor and get access to Honda dealer scan tool (MCI/MCS) and get some screen shots to document what is actually available for troubleshooting purposes. There are several aftermarket scan tools that can access the ECM, you can compare its coverage/capabilities with...

    CB650F Rear brake pedal ergonomics?

Can you adjust the position of the rear brake pedal? I know you can adjust the shifter up/down to fit your feet nicely, what about the brake? I feel like I have to lift my foot off the peg to get the brake. I would like to lower it down a bit.

CB650F Bike won't start after doing maintenance!

Hi guys, I plucked up the courage to do the 8000 mile service on my '15 CB650F and my heart sank afterwards - the bike won't start! All I did was pop it on my new abba stand, do the procedures to lift the tank, inspected the fuel hoses, lifted the air filter out and saw that a replacement would...

    Break in period confusion

Just got a new CBR650R, in the manual says break in period is 300miles but first service is 600miles. This mean that after 300 miles I can start properly using power and riding hard or wait till after first service?

All 650's First Service vs Annual?

My bike is a Feb 2019. I can see it received it's first service in Sept 2019 at 300 miles. I bought it a few weeks ago with ~700 miles. Thinking about the annual service and the fact the first service was done at only 300, do you think it's safe enough to ride for the summer and just service it...

    CB650R 12 month service

Just had my 12 month service and apart from my dealer adjusting and tightening everything up I can honestly say the whole engine and gearbox feels much better after the oil and filter change, just seems more responsive and the initial engine braking has virtually disappeared, anyone else noticed...

All 650Rs Cbr650r Oil change issue

Sorry if this is redundant. I just picked up a '19 cbr650r and did the usual "new to me" maintenance. Clean/ lube chain, adjust tension and change oil and filter. I do my own maintenance on a triumph Bonneville but this is my first CBR. My issue is that the manual states 3 quarts capacity...

All 650's A few questions all at once

As the title says, I have a few questions for those of you out there who know more about bikes than me. First, a little info about me. I got my first bike last summer, a 2018 CB650F. It was new old stock, so I got a good deal on it. A little over 6,000 USD out the door. Shortly after, I...

    All 650's Rusty chain

Before corona, I rode daily and cleaned/lubbed weekly. Last week, after more than a month sitting dirty at the garage, I cleaned the chain and everything was fine, but I postponed applying lube, because I wasn't going to ride for a while. Now, one week latter, the chain has a lot of rusty spots...

All 650's Safe to remove stickers?

Hi guys! Thanks for an awesome forum. I'm the new lucky owner of a CB 650R (2019). I'm a bit of a sucker for the "clean look" without any decals and stickers. My question is, is it safe to remove the manufacturing sticker close front? I would be worried that it would (fx) lower the re-sale...

All 650's 4000 miles of pleasure, now come the real fun part (service maintenance!)

Hi lads, I got my bike for nearly a year already. I am about to reach 4000 miles or 6400kms (I rode mostly on weekends). 95% of my ridding session is in the city with no rough terrains. There maybe a few times I hit some decent holes which I nearly crash + I ussually go hard on the rev when the...

All 650's Valve clearance check at 32k miles

Just did mine (with help from a friend who knows what he's doing). 4 hours start to finish. Oh my god what a pain in the backside! Why Honda thought it was a good idea to have the rocker cover seal attach to the cover and not the block is beyond me. Anyway... All done. Looks like I'll need...
