If you are stretching to reach the ground when sitting on the seat of a bike, I find it can be difficult getting on the bike with it leant over on the side stand ( I always leave the side stand down until I am on the bike ) because the passenger part of the seat is often quite a bit higher...
That sounds about right. Don't think getting rid of product regulations in particular was one of the main reasons for leaving the EU though, but I doubt whether the 'deal' we finished up with is what the so called Brexiteers really wanted. I am not sure what has been gained.
All new models will need to comply with relevant current regulations ,whatever they are ! Are UK bikes still governed by EU standards since we left the EU ?
Was interested in the new Honda CMX1100 Rebel and looked on the Honda website and played their sound of the engine which presumably was intended to attract purchasers. All I could hear was a lot of rattling and a tinny sounding exhaust ,not what I would have expected and it wouldn't help...
Thank goodness for that, lower mark minimum, upper mark maximum, straightforward. Not like my BMW 1 series car which doesn't have a dipstick. You have to sit in the car for about 5 minutes and operate some electronic trickery before seeing a display on the dashboard indicating the oil level !
Dipsticks usually have 2 marks, lower and upper. Oil on lower marks means engine is low on oil and could do with topping up; oil on upper mark means engine is full of oil and ok. Or is this something else I don't understand anymore ! :)
How long before that garage is full of stuff again ?! I put in beams and extra joists and boarded out the loft of my single garage for extra storage and now the ground and first floors are nearly full !
I like the sound of a 'louder than stock' exhaust, but I wouldn't want one that was so loud my ears were ringing for hours after I stopped riding (that to me seems a sign that your hearing is being damaged ) I fitted road legal Fuel exhausts to a Yamaha bulldog that sounded good but not too loud...
Over keen front brakes on a motorbike are dangerous I think. I had a test ride on an F800 BMW and the front brakes were far too keen. I thought the CB650 brakes were just about right. Component wise I think the cb650 was better generally than my suzuki sv650A. Believe it or not the cb650f seat...
I didn't think the quality was poor on my cb650f ,apart from black exhaust box finish. The brakes were good (keener than my current Suzuki sv650A ) suspension not bad, decent quality parts generally. Depends what you are comparing it with I suppose.
No problem with an Abba stand on the cb650f, easy to fit the stand fixings into the bike frame. Suzuki sv650a is a bit more difficult because you have to remove a plastic panel each side of the bike to fit the stand fixings into the frame.
