Crashed the bike yesterday during a moment of insanity.

Sorry about the crash but if you are ok that is the main thing. A wonder they didn't write the bike off with all that damage ! Good luck with the repairs to the bike and yourself.

Thanks Enrico. Yeah I was also surprised, meanly about the amount of damage cost compared to the new value of the bike. Damage is around 40%. But all is taken care insurance wise minus my deductible

Crashed the bike yesterday during a moment of insanity. In all those years, I never damaged a bike so much like I did yesterday! It was doomsday and I was thrown over the handlebar and landed face down on the ground. After a couple of minutes and some people around me, I was up on my feet and looked at my bike (Blood was dripping down on the ground) and the only thing that crossed my mind was, could I still ride it home 🤔. A nice girl pointed at my helmet an grabbed her phone, she wanted to call a ambulance. I took my helmet of an than I realized that my face was bleeding (apparently my glasses had cut in to my nose and face) nothing really serious, just a lot of blood. After cleaning up my face with the help of a friendly bystander the bleeding stopped and I picked up my bike and put it on the side stand. After about two hours and a couple of phone calls later I was already standing at the dealer discussing how to fix the bike, what parts needed to be replaced/fixed. The list is long very long and my mechanic wanted to be sure there where no hidden defects and told me today that the front of the frame is still okay and that they can fix the bike. Today I realized how lucky I am, the only injuries I have are some nasty cuts in my nose and sore muscles, arms mostly. This could be way more serious! Some parts that need to be replaced to fix the bike are: radiator, tank, exhaust, foot pegs, rear brake, complete steering assembly, air intake, engine parts like clutch cover, foot brake assembly and more, what a day

Took a decent ride out yesterday to test my newly fitted QS. Love it, what not to like? Also had the belly pan fitted at the same time. Finishes the bike off nicely 😊

did 80 miles this morning on my favored low speed, twisty, tree lined route. Bought about 1 year ago...2500 trouble free, fun miles on it now (note I split seat time between 4 street legal road bikes...hence low accrued mileage) Regardless....no issues, no complaints whatsoever with the fun, agile little bugger.

Deicided to finally change out fork oil and boy am I glad I did!

The process itself was relatively simple and allowed me to inspect the fork legs and springs properly.
Here’s a visual reminder to service your forks regularly:


new oil on the left for comparison.
The old one was literally like silver metallic paint and had a foul smell.
I reckon nobody was here before and the bike is 6yrs old and over 30k km...

I used this oil:

Yeah it’s really an amazing job my dealer did, in such a short time. It’s a small Honda dealership run by two brothers, and they are such friendly guys, always helping you out the best way they can.

New levers, going to start adding a bit of Blue to my bike.

Ha, just fitted the same ones myself! I went black ends with blue adjusters.

Nice levers (if you can get them to ship the correct clutch adapter!).

Check you have part 304173 before fitting.

Well, went into the office for the only time this month and rolled over 20,000 miles on my 2018. Still runs great! I'm going to miss seeing a 1 in front of the mileage. I also got my loan APR reduced quite a bit, so I can pay it off quicker and cheaper.
