CBR650R Hello

July 2021 CBR650R picked up from Near Hull yesterday from a lovely couple who have changed their minds on getting road bikes again and gone for Off Road Honda bikes instead.
So bought it for a great price with just 224 miles on it.
Have finished the running in up to 300 miles on the trip home and fitted my Quadlock with wireless charging wired to the USB C under the seat.

Loved the ride home, crossing the Humber bridge in the sunshine!

Adore the bike.

Plans for a Trip to Asses n for the Superbikes and a European tour taking in Monaco, Red Bill Ring for Moto GP and Paris late summer with my Son 👍

Just been out for an hours around some local roads I know well and loved it. Beautiful day for it dry clean roads and the bike is a joy to ride. Suspension may not be premium but it’s really good and the bike is precise and easy to handle in the twisties.
Really looking for ward to this summer!
Probably going to add the Shonda Quickshifter and a tail tidy as the standard plate hanger is a pig to clean!

Given a good clean and polish.
A few more checks done too, tyre pressures spot on Chain tension adjusted. Bit surprised it needed adjusting after 350 miles but I suppose it’s going to stretch a little bit as it’s breaking in.

Probably going to add a tail tidy and quickshifter first and will need some sort of luggage for a couple of European trips this year.

My son (Ex BSB racer) is going to sort me out a track day with some instruction from a mate of his who did some track riding videos during lockdown I enjoyed.
Only a current MotoGP test rider as instructor, no pressure LOL 😂

Yep, I've seen his videos. I really like him and because his English is insanely good he's able to articulate everything he's trying to teach you. I am very jealous - you'll have a cracking day. I really want to get some track training in. I've not done it before but know a few guys that have and all rave about it.

So, your lad was a BSB rider then? That's pretty special!

After finally persuading him daddy wouldn’t kill himself on a bike and having 18 months on a Suzuki GSX-S125 trailing around behind him I’ve got my full license and the first big bike.
Several trips into Europe planned this summer!
It’s going to be mint!

Excellent choice! Welcome! If you haven’t already, highly recommend getting the vibration dampener for the quad lock, or you risk damaging your phone camera.

Bought it with the Wireless charging head when they had their annual 30% off sale!
It’s hidden nicely under the wireless head.

I believe vibration (it the high frequencies that do it for iPhones) isn’t too much of a problem on small capacity bikes, the old Suzuki 125 never caused the problem with my iPhone X, but when my iPhone wouldn’t charge through the cable anymore I splashed the cash for the wireless and got the Vibration dampener at the same time in their sale ready for the planned big bike!
iPhone X is fine so far ✅

He was checking tonight that I wasn’t going nuts and trying to kill myself!
Told him I was being very careful but to be honest I’m now addicted and enjoying what the bike will do!
Most of the time I stop the acceleration at the speed limit!
Most of the time lol.
Kind of get my sons attitude that there is never too much power and loving being able to overtake really easily!
On the positive side I am applying some great techniques on looking through apexes to the exit for corners 👍
