GB Engine Covers over Evotech Frame Sliders?

Sorry if I am beating a dead horse on this, but after reading through all the threads on the frame sliders, but it's not clear to me what the safer option is. Seems like a lot of people are saying there is a risk of them cracking the engine mounts on this bike. I understand to avoid the single mounting point sliders as they are far riskier, but even still people are saying avoid all sliders altogether. On the other hand, I don't like the idea of letting the crankcase hit the ground, even if it's 'protected'...
I am back in the market for one of the two because after two stupid right-side drops while working on the bike the one I have on broke on the right side. I have the choice narrowed down to either Evotech frame sliders or GB Engine Covers, both of which people really like. Aesthetically, the Evotech probably look better and are a bit cheaper, so I would 'lean' (haha) towards Evotech. My concern is more about drops from stand still or low speed and less about a crash.
What is the recommendation these days?

Nothing has changed in the design of the frame or engine since the 650 platform was introduced in ‘14 so the advice from back then still stands:

You run a risk of frame and engine damage if you use “sliders” and the bike falls over. Much higher with single point, lower, but still there, with 2 or more mounting point sliders. Case covers are your safest bet but not perfect because the case can still crack under the cover. But it’s something.

Honestly the fall from a stopped, upright position is the hardest because there is no other force (like forward sliding) to help take the some of the impact. Hit something with a hammer straight down, now hit it with a glancing blow that’s off to the side as well; way less damage that way because some of the force is dissipated in another direction.

So it’s a coin flip which will help better, which will fail and if your bike will survive without major damage.

Your best bet is to be way more careful when working on the bike and keep it more secure to be sure there isn’t a third time :)

My bike has been over twice, both at <5mph. Just after I got it, in a car park and this weekend when a pedestrian ran out in front of me. I missed the pedestrian but the bike fell at the very last moment of the avoiding manoeuvre.
Both times the Evotech sliders prevented almost any damage (first right, then left).
I say ‘almost’ as this week when the bike went, it also hit the kerb and my generator cover has a tiny scratch. I’ve ordered a new cover £120.
The crash bungs have prevented both fairing being damaged and possibly more.
