Make sure Google Maps and Road Sync have permission to run in background all the time, so they can run when you have the screen off/phone locked.

I have checked and both apps have this permission.
Today I have tested it once again and when I set the destination on the app on mobile phone then locked it after few meters the navigation closed. But when I chose the history destination using joystick I can ride directly to my destination without any interruption. In both cases the screen was off and I was using google maps (RoadSyng use the Google Maps navi in my case).
I was trying also to close the small window from Google Maps and then turn off the screen but the results was the same - navigation turn off not immediately but after few meters.
It looks like a problem with my smartphone.
In addition I got two voices with the directions. One is from a lady from Road Sync and the second one is from a guy from Google Maps.

Two voices... that's weird... 🙄

Do you also have a Samsung smartwatch? Some people had problems with Samsung phones and watches connected when using the Roadsync navigation.

Roadsync just makes the link to another nav app (Google Maps or Here).

Since Google bought Waze, they've merged their teams (Maps and Waze) and are merging features, step by step. Soon we'll have Google Waze Maps... 😆
Google have owned it for 12 years. I think Google Waze is another 15 years off, at this rate of merger. 😉

No i hate smartwatches

Are you using Android phone with Road Sync ?
:)
Hi, late reply but I'm using S24 so maybe I can help you work it out if you're still having the same issue?

So you said you're happy to use google maps, which is what I use to. For me I always start the navigation in Google maps on my phone directly; before or after turning the bike on shouldn't matter, but what I mean is I don't start navigation from the bike controls. Also screen on or off also shouldn't matter as long as the navigation is started.

Could you try this and see if it works any better? I'm sure it's possible to start it from the bike controls but it could also be the cause of why you have two voices.

p.s. Just to be sure on the earlier discussion, the relevant permission in samsung is App Info > Battery > Unrestricted. I would do this for both roadsync and Google maps. I also allow location all the time in maps and nearby devices.

Maybe you're right, but I'm not so sure... and now with AI madness everywhere, we might end having a Gemini Waze. 😆

- For the voice command beep not working when a smartwatch its paired

1. Go to Bluetooth settings > Paired Devices
2. Click on the settings from the paired Smartwatch and disable Use this device for Phone Calls

After this Roadsync opens automatically when I turn my bike on, voice command beep works and I can start a navigation route turn-by-turn without any problems with my phone locked on my pocket.
Will try this, thank you. I always though something was wrong either with my mic or app. But then again I never heard the beep.

On another note does any of you have the keyboard of the Android being hidden/disabled when connected to the bike? My phone connects automatically to the bike and opens roadsync and puff keyboard is gone. Yesterday for example was a pain to change the location because I had to either disconnect or turn off the bike.

I have to open the app, accept the ts and Cs before I can use the app
I have to open the music app too otherwise the music features on the Honda display don't work correctly.

I think it should connect automatically. My car and phone connect seemlessly.
