Anyone having issues with the Honda RoadSync app?
Mine has stopped connecting 3 times now, and the fix is to clear the data on my phone and reinstall the connection. This means I lose the trip information .

Shame as its quite useful (when it's working)

Haven't noticed any connection problems... 🙄

It looses connection when you're riding or it doesn't connect at all when you start the bike?

Do you have an iPhone or Android?
On Android there's a few options and permissions you should have activated to allow the app to run in background without restrictions, to connect to nearby devices, and also to avoid battery saving. Those things might do the app to loose connection, so I would start by checking those.

I have a Samsung phone
One day it'll be fine and connect at the start of a ride, then the next day it won't connect.
The fix is to clear the data on the app and run through the process of pairing it again

If you gave permission to the application to run in background without restrictions, then it seems to be a Bluetooth connection issue.
Roadsync requires Bluetooth 4.2, but with version 5.0 communication speed greatly improved. Maybe that's the reason, if your phone has a 4.2 version.
Mine has Bluetooth 5.1, Android 12.

I had problems in the past when connecting multiple devices, and found that my Garmin GPS required a specific connection order (between gps, phone, smartwatch and helmet) to work fine with my phone.
With Roadsync had no problems and I have the helmet, smartwatch and bike all connected to the phone at same time. Haven't tried with the GPS yet 😅

Maybe you have something else connected, or any app running in background that your bike doesn't like? 🙄

Nothing back from Honda yet.
I think there's an app causing the issue but I'm not prepared to spend hours trying to isolate which one.

Thank you for your comments 👍

I've noticed an issue since upgrading to Android 15 / One UI 7.0, it could be coincidence of course but have you also had this upgrade and issue only in the past week or so?

The issue for me is that Honda Roadsync app used to reliably open itself on my phone as soon as the bike power was turned on (not the engine).

Unhelpfully, it would interrupt navigation and ask me to tap Accept on the same warning every time, which is a design problem in my eyes, but I digress.

Now the phone app doesn't start itself at all, which means it doesn't connect to the bike for either nav or music. Sometimes when I open the app pre-emptively I get 'connection error' (which is disappointing too since it shouldn't require a connection anyway).

I updated the app last night to the same version as Mac Roadster and everything was fine today. I'm hoping there's no further issues 👍

No problems with this version either.
I don't touch the phone. Just go to the bike, start and ride it. Roadsync connects fine.

Hello.

I had some issues but it looks more stable now with this latest version 25.3.11. Even with the newest Android 15, it works the same. After Android 15 upgrade I needed to reinstall and repeat the connection to the bike, but then, everything was back to normal and I didn´t lost the historic data. I left a comment on the Google App feedback section, and I was contacted back by Honda developers.
But there are some known issues Honda recognizes:

- If a smartwatch is connected to the phone, voice command does not work to the point I don’t get the signal to start talking. If I disconnect the watch, voice control works fine. This is happening with Samsung, both watch and phone.
- If the phone screen is locked, navigation uses HERE by default. If unlocked, uses Google Maps. Both navigate fine with voice commands but with Google Maps, turn-by-turn signs on the screen are much better. But the spoken instruction are both fine. For me this is relevant because I don’t want to use headset. So I just have to stop the bike, use the phone to use Google, and then works fine. Having the screen unlocked is not an option for me as I use the phone in my pocket.

They have been friendly and always reply back. They created and keep a ticket open for me and apparently, they are working on improvements for these and other issues. Hope one day I can confirm them these are solved.
But I still think Roadsynk is very basic and could offer much more these days. But if at least it was stable, I would be glad. Honestly, I'm testing it because I have it on my new CB1000 Hornet. On the day before, the CB650R monochromatic screen was enough for me. I'm one of those who adjust the settings to my use and forgot all these electronics exist. I don't need all this stuff. My eyes should be on the road and my head enjoying riding. Just that.
To be fair, even the Roadsynk, I have it setup to be manually activated because 99% of the rides, I don’t need It and don´t plan to use it that much. Portugal is a small country, I can navigate using road signals ;-)

I have a Samsung watch, but I only use voice commands from my helmet's intercom, so I never noticed that 😅

I always plan the route when I'm off the bike, so I don't care for voice commands for that.
I also use the phone on the pocket (or topcase) and with Google Maps. But Google Maps takes ages to recalculate a route if I decide to go through another road.
So I've installed Here and will try it next time.

It's not that small! I always find streets or locations with no road signals pointing them. 😄
Also, I ride out of Portugal too 😉

I have Roadsync but find Cardo direct to my phone, using Waze, is far better. It also re-routes for traffic/road closures, which Roadsync does not.
It also tells me if plod are on my route ahead!

Roadsync just makes the link to another nav app (Google Maps or Here).

Since Google bought Waze, they've merged their teams (Maps and Waze) and are merging features, step by step. Soon we'll have Google Waze Maps... 😆

Hey Portuguese friend,

I don't have a 650 (I have a X-ADV) but i had same Roadsync issues and found this topic on Google, i just created an account to share with you and others how I fixed it as this topic might popup for other people on Google.

I also have Samsung freshly updated to Android 15 + Samsung smartwatch and faced same problems.

- For the Roadsync not pairing after Android update these steps fixed for me (sent by a Honda rep)

1. Uninstall Roadsync app.
2. In your smartphone’s Bluetooth settings, remove the HONDA BTU device, then turn off Bluetooth.
3. Reset the motorcycle’s Bluetooth twice.
4. Then, turn on the Bluetooth on your smartphone.
5. Install Roadsync from store and follow the new pairing proceeding rom the app.

- For the voice command beep not working when a smartwatch its paired

1. Go to Bluetooth settings > Paired Devices
2. Click on the settings from the paired Smartwatch and disable Use this device for Phone Calls

After this Roadsync opens automatically when I turn my bike on, voice command beep works and I can start a navigation route turn-by-turn without any problems with my phone locked on my pocket.

I have Fold 6 + Samsung Watch Ultra

Hello and thank you for sharing.
After A15 update I had already unistalled and make a fresh full activation. Works fine now.
The voice command I prefer to keep the watch working. Usually I don't use the watch when riding becaus it messes with the jacket tight sleeves and gloves, so no real problem. I prefer to keep RS starting manually becaus 90% os the time I don't need it. So, I'm ok with it now.
All I need is a fuel gage and some warnings light just in case 😉

Does anyone have issues with iPhones linked to Roadsync? I ask because my next Honda has it. Thanks.
