    CBR650F Rough shifting

As a pure experiment... What happens if you over tighten the clutch cable, removing almost all the slack... Does that reduce the dragging feeling/change anything? I'm assuming you soaked the clutch plates in oil before fitting... I wonder if the old oil has disagreed with them somehow. Maybe...

    CBR650R for older rider

I'll be 50 this year and I find the cbr650f very comfortable. As a platform it isn't going to be too hard on you. Note that the 650r has a slightly more aggressive position, and the cbr moreso than the cb. J

    Clip on handle bars

Have you looked on fowlers? Once you get the part number from there, Google is your friend. It will also be in this document https://650f.bike/resources/2014-2018-cbr650f-cb650f-parts-catalogues.39/ J

CB650F Bought bike, cranks no start. 2 ecm wires cut

I'd start by being very sure that coil pack 1 & 2 are not swapped (check using wire colours from the diagram) ... this bike fires the cylinders in pairs, but only one cylinder of each pair has compressed fuel in it at a time (the other being on the exhaust stroke). Also double check that the...

    CB650F Tuning for full exhaust?

You need the map built on a dyno at a shop. You can get an auto tuner module for the power commander... But it doesn't do as good of a job as a shop would. Valve clearance checks are every 16k, with adjustment at 32k. Grab the service manual from resources section... It has all that kind...

CB650F Bought bike, cranks no start. 2 ecm wires cut

The low voltage wires are the wiring loom side of the coil pack... Not the plug HT wires. The valve timing would be so far out to do this I doubt it's that... The engine would be almost trying to run backwards at that point. You know you have spark, air and fuel... I just feel like you haven't...

CBR650F noob unsure about lever adjustment

First off, get the freeplay adjusted to 10-12mm on the tip of the clutch lever. Once that's done, use the lever adjuster to find the best place for you. It might not be perfect, so the final adjustment will be in your head. Other levers are available that use a screw type adjuster for an...

    CBR650F Mod2 in 2 weeks...

Looks good. I always did like the red/black version. Gear indicator is handy for a quick glance before you get to a junction, but yeah at the end of the day, gear doesn't matter so long as the engine is spinning freely and happy. Good job on the mod2! Congrats. J

CB650F Bought bike, cranks no start. 2 ecm wires cut

If you have a backfire then you have fuel, air and spark... So it should run. The 650 uses lost spark ignition, so I'd double check that plug wires are in correct order and to correct packs, and that the low voltage input to the coils it the right way around. Almost feels like it's firing on...

    CBR650F Rough shifting

I think it's yours for some reason, there haven't been widespread reports on here over hte years of rough downshifts. You could try an oil swap for a different brand - some people have reported that making a massive difference. I use Castrol fully synth, Motul has also been recommended by...

    CBR650F Rough shifting

I don't have a problem that cannot be blamed on me and a bad foot position on the lever. The gearbox is smooth. Have you tried charging the oil for a different brand? What oil is in there? 45k miles on original clutch here. J

    CBR650F Rough shifting

Going to suggest something "out there"... Is the gear lever height in need of an adjustment? That helped me. J

    CB650R How change clutch cable

Hi. The clutch cable is clipped to the bottom of the airbox, however the cable can be unclipped and replaced without lifting the tank/airbox. Having recently replaced mine (after 11 years and 40k miles it was straightforward. I recommend running ptfe based lubricant through the cable...

CBR650F noob unsure about lever adjustment

I just googled them, cheap; likely chinese. Website: https://mzsracing.com/products/mzs-black-motorcycle-brake-clutch-levers-adjustable-short-compatible-with-honda?variant=51181803405605 One redit thread (so take that with a pinch of salt) was very negative to the point of saying "don't use -...

CB650F Help needed for left crank cover case leaking

Grab the service manual from the resources section. That has all the details you'll need. I have resealed my 2024 generator cover for the same reason. Can confirm it uses an RTV sealer and no "gasket". I used threebond and it worked perfectly. The left side has to real oil in it, but...

CB650F Bought bike, cranks no start. 2 ecm wires cut

They will be there. Ect sensor is (going on memory) located on the rear of the engine, the map sensor is on the rear of the airbox. Both wires will be in the loom somewhere! I'd unwrap the ecu loom and find them by going backwards. J

CB650F Bought bike, cranks no start. 2 ecm wires cut

I've followed the wires on the diagram ... those two are for the MAP sensor and the ECT sensor. Both affect fuelling. You'll need to reconnect those. I'm surprised the bike isn't showing a MIL code at this point! J

CB650F Bought bike, cranks no start. 2 ecm wires cut

Have you checked the service manual - a full wiring diagram is in the back which may help. I also posted a colour copy of hte USA 650f wiring diagram a while back: https://650f.bike/resources/usa-650f-wiring-diagram.37/ How do you know it's getting fuel? Have you checked the sidestand cut-out...

All 650's Valve clearance check at 32k miles

I used the old packing. I smeared some of the sealant over it... One to seal it, but also to stick the seal to the rocker cover as it was a pita to refit! The dots are placed in the corners by the round bits at each side of the engine. The service manual has a diagram showing the exact...
