Surprised as the reviews I read indicated the only change 2021 -2022 on the CBR650R was an extra colour option!
Glad you sorted it but needs some primer and black sating over those welds!
Given the suspension upgrade from the 2019 bike to the 2021 with the Showa Single function forks was meant fo be the biggest difference so not surprised to hear that upgrading it with Ohlins was a biggie for you!
Glad your loving yours I’ve done around 5,000 miles on mine since I bought it...
Weird!
Done 5750 miles or over 9,000 km on my 21 bike and no sign of any irregular wear or bumps on mine front or back.
I do check them before every ride and eyeball them when cleaning the bike after each ride too.
As a 2018 bike they are getting to be quite old tyres at 4 years oldish. Does...
Most motorcycles over estimate speed typically with Hondas for example it’s about 8% which is exactly what my CBR650R was at max speed on a German Autobahn.
238 kph or 148 MPH indicated but a true 137 MPH on the GPS!
So even if they were behind you and used their time/distance kit to clock your...
2021 bike should still be under Warranty (2 years in Europe) so should be an issue for your dealer to resolve). I would suggest even if your somewhere with a shorted official warranty O would ask Honda in your country for some good will assistance on such a new bike.
NB in Europe you have some...
Overfilling is bad (not as bad as being below the minimum which can end your engines life in very short order.
Overfilling can cause oil to be forced past rings and seals causing blue smoke and oil leaks all of which can be fixed and aren’t terminal!
On bikes or cars if it’s near the min top ot...
Your being very restrained calling them scum bags!
I can think of some much less pleasant words to describe them!
If you have to replace the whole lock sets a complete lock set inc keys(s) and ECU set from a salvaged bike are often the cheapest way to do this!
You might need to get the mileage...
I think the main changes were exhaust and some engine tweaks to make the bike Euro 5 compliant and some very useful changes to the suspension Showa Dual Bending Valve forks on the older bikes to Sperate Function Big Piston (SFF BP) items on to 21 onwards version.
Apart from that it’s subtle...
One question comes to mind!
If you hit the stock exhaust will you just end up throwing off the engine, O2 / ECU set up again and screw the MPG all over again?
Don’t know that it will but perhaps some more research and look through the posts and ask some questions on the exhaust pinned post.
Can’t say I feel any extra pressure is required to Quickshift as long as you have throttle open and are accelerating when you shift!
Definitely more pressure if you try at neutral throttle however but that not how it’s meant to work!
You may be right but I can’t say I really notice any...
Don’t know about the 2014 650F but I use an old silver version of the stand with the L fittings and take care when using it as my 2021 CBR650R has rounded edges to the swing arm!
Despite having to be careful it’s not in a position where it might slip on either side it works fine and I use it...
The Quickshifter doesn’t change the geometry of the mechanism and doesn’t change the loads or directions of loss on the shift rod so I don’t see why that would require extra support?
That’s OK you rode how you like and what suits your experience and confidence and just because it’s not what other people choose to do really doesn’t matter.
The three MPG (UK) difference matches my measured tankfuls speed looks like that is consistent.
The MPG also matches what I got on my...
