Honda have used RC designations for years now....did they reach RC99 with some model ? ....could be the CBr is the first of an entirely new designation RH01 ??
Change the tyres if you've not done so already, that should help a little, Michelins and you don't have to buy the latest ones....lol....the older versions are all quite good too :)

The gixxer shock is quite a hefty, fully prepped unit ? Wouldn't you be better trying to source a set from the old 600, the hornet thing, if it's only aesthetics you're after and not worried about adjustments ?

If it was stolen and recovered before you bought it, it may be a dodgy accident damaged rebuild ? You know the kind of thing, light damage, cheap and repairable, Ebay for 2nd hand parts, not put back together properly before resale at market value.
Warranty shouldn't be affected at all....unless...
