TIme to start a thread of your favorite places to ride. Pictures are helpful ;)

My first entry is from this morning on Mulholland Hwy, Malibu CA. No one on the road at 7am on a Sat other than hard-core cyclists. I’ve had the honor of being passed by a Porsche GT3 on this stretch a few months ago. Saw him 20 minutes later at County Line with the surfers!

1975
I’ll play:

Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and the Smoky Mountians area are my very favorite. So places like Deals Gap, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherahola Skyway, Moonshiner 28, Devils Triangle, really any local road you can find gives you unbelievable views and better yet a community and culture that likes bikers. I’ve been riding there since the late 90’s and back then they weren’t as keen on out of towners, but now the realize how much money we bring to the area and it’s SO nice to ride in areas like that. Here you’re either a Harley guy or a squid that goes 100mph through traffic in flip flops and shorts so you don’t get much respect.

Locally, I like to ride the “alphabet” roads on the border of Wisconsin and Minnesota. Wisconsin labels their county roads with letter, not numbers, so you follow the Mississippi River south a bit, pick a letter, go east and get lost a few hours. It’s fun but I live for the twice a year I get to travel elsewhere. They call that alphabet soup.

Attached are a Gap pic from last fall, one from this spring on the Triumph and one from a lookout on the BRP as a storm rolled in. EA3F1A51-D69F-4EBE-9D88-6B8B3036A601.jpeg9561E7DC-3505-40E7-82D4-A5B0B0FB2FB0.jpeg98286A2A-6034-48B0-8F2F-E55147FBE7C0.jpeg

I go here twice a week to help teach english to the the monks who want to learn. Some are quite young.
The teaching temple is high in the hills. The water in the first picture is the kok river it goes all the way to Burma.
They say ,on a clear day you can see bodies floating down from the Burma's casino, losers, and maybe some winners as well.

Some nice quite B-roads near me if I want to go for a quick squirt, or there's around and beyond the Loch Lomond(ish) area if I feel like going a longer or more scenic trip, and I always like riding along the cost from Port Glasgow, down past Largs to Ardrossan and beyond.
Not really the stop and take photo's type unfortunately but the camera's shit on my phone anyway.

I’ve been lucky enough yo be working in northern Scotland since last Monday, of course I hadn’t to bring the bike with me, I rode to John o groats when I was up that way and now I’ve come further south I’ve done the a 150 mile trip including most of the north coastal trail, here’s a few of my favourite photos so far, hoping to get out again tomorrow weather permitting! 79B4351D-F44B-4376-8D1B-1309BA3064B2.jpeg9DB49230-EAF0-47A0-A237-659893ECBBA8.jpegCE1BD54A-3F87-455D-B0F0-27B083B97696.jpeg597401F7-0B55-4F11-AB81-69013136FEFC.jpeg81E28D42-4F2A-48E6-ADD6-777E35B47B9A.jpeg

Due to the fact that my offices are in EST and I live in CA I try to go to bed by 9pm and am usually up by 4:30am. Most Saturday mornings I leave at sunrise and ride somewhere for an hour or two, primarily because there is no traffic at that hour and my family is still asleep.

I met some guys recently at a Men’s breakfast at my Church who also ride and we discussed going on a Malibu PCH (Pacific Coast Hwy) run. Normally those conversations never actually pan out, but Ray took the initiative and actually picked a date and a spot.

We rode down this morning, unaware of an Iron Man triathlon going on in Malibu, and despite heavy traffic, both outside lanes of PCH being coned off for 20 miles, we made it to Santa Monica by 8:30.

Outside , cafe seating on 2nd St, free motorcycle parking in the garage next door, and a loop on freshly repaved Decker Canyon/Mulholland made a perfect morning! We’re now going to get together and ride somewhere once a month. Just because...

The fun part of this tale is Ron rides a Ninja 250, Ray a GSXR750. If I can get my neighbor Rob to join us, who has a Yamaha R1, we will have all the Japanese bike manufacturers and size classes represented. A good Saturday ride can bring all that together!

Now, grab a friend and go ride...

YES! I'm on a rented Triumph Street Triple. Cannot believe how amazing Foothill Parkway was from Pigeon Forge to Maryville...
