Sorry if this has been covered, I seem to be pretty rubbish at searching..

I bought my CB650R 2019 used back in May and have slowly been doing things to it to bring it up to a better standard.

It was an ex school bike but for the price when comparing to similar age / mileage it seemed like a good deal. So far zero issues but this is my first bike.

I wanted to know what people’s initial shopping list / task lists would be for your first few months / year of the bike.

So far I have:
- changed the oil to motul 7100 as I didn’t know how old the previous oil was
- changed the oil filter
- got new rubber on it (road 6’s)
- changed the levers as they were broken / taped and put some ASV levers on
- put a quick shifter on it
- cleaned the clutch cable as I think it’s the original and put a drop of 3in 1 down it
- cleaned it and adjusted the chain tension

On my list for the next month or so:
- I have ordered a new clutch cable as I think it might still have the original and it feels like I’m getting less and less play available so want a reset
- change brake pads and fluid
- change coolant
- probably change air filter?
- I’ve ordered some replacement nuts and bolts from fowlers as some of the current ones look quite worn and some are almost stripped and some are different sizes which bugs my slight ocd
- ACF50 as I have to store the bike outdoors so I also have a cover for it

I use the bike for commuting around 110 miles round trip plus for daily / weekend fun riding and I plan to use it year round.

I bought it at 25k miles and it now has almost 33k.

Other “nice to have” things I want to do
- replace the bar ends as they are scratched
- replace the air boxes as the logo of the riding school is “Sun kissed” into it so it’s ever so slightly visible
- put a different exhaust on it, maybe an SP Engineering one, but keep the original in case I hate it lol
- get new heated grips on as the current ones are almost smoothed
