CBR650R My Customised Exhaust Piping

Hi Guys,

Over the weekend, finally sent my 650r in to do a customised full system, using Stainless Steel 304 and 316 with TIG welding, and form a straight piping from exhaust manifold all the way to a slip on Yoshi R77,

Stock exhaust manifold - 32mm
Custom-ed - 35mm

Joint Manifold 2-1/2-1 - 40mm

Outlet 2-1 - 51mm

My review over it, the bike is way smoother as before, revs were easygoing and while there's traffic, gliding made easier. Sound wise it's bassy and tame when idle rpm, but it roars when you rev it high. Overall extremely satisfied as this was the sound i'm looking for since gotten the 650r.

What was the reason to go fully custom over Yosh’s option? Cost? They look very similar:

I would have to be honest with you, the muffler is non original,

It's not easy to get the original here, distributor have no stock and we have to call up and order and waiting time is long, we can't purchase of revzilla or any other legit distributors overseas as they will not ship to Malaysia, in fact we are not even sure its able to go through customs with the purchase.

Theft in our country is quite a norm for bikes as they will not take the whole bike but bits and parts of it, therefore having original is a high risk due to theft.

Although non original, the welder actually operated it to fill in more Fibre and wool as copies version is kinda low grade, therefore it can last quite a while until the original arrives but unsure when.

The welder have been doing customised exhaust for quite some time and we exchange ideas on how it can be done and accept based on his experience in doing exhaust systems, do take note I have included a powerbomb in mid section and together with enlarged piping, the bike revs smoother now, power wise is more linear compared to stock.

It took him 1.5 days to complete it, and welding joints are all polished and smoothened out therefore weld points look minimal, there was times when he did some welding and he didn't like it, removed it and redo, welding seems like an art to him i guess.

thanks buddy, i absolutely loved it as well, the produced sound was just what i wanted for a bike, the flames well, is nice but urm not encouraged to do it so much LOL

i'm gonna show the spiral piping with titanium on my friend's bike, which is more incredible.

he has 2 mufflers, 1 is original and 1 is not, both looks exactly the same

for track days - non original
for public roads - original

thanks buddy, i wouldn't say it matches the litre bike, but perhaps 80% alike in real life actual comparing, perhaps an original R-77 might sound even better ?

Comparing to akra and sc, it's the tamest of them all, sounds loud only when above 5k rpm
