Hi All! I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I've been riding for 35+ years, my CBR650R is one of my favorite bikes! I have made a lot of modifications to the bike- exhaust, suspension, tuning, and LED lights to name a few. The upgrade that made the biggest difference was upgrading the suspension to Ohlins front and rear. Glad to be here!

The rear shock was a piece of cake, took no time at all. The forks took a lot longer because you have to remove everything from the fork tube, then basically rebuild it, fill it with oil, bleed them, etc. Pretty advanced for a DIYer, but doable if you have the patience. The end result is worth it. The handling is far better than stock.

Cool, I see you do ECU flashing for our bikes ($250). Good to know. Lots of folks here were not aware the ECU could flashed.

Yes, definitely! That’s another investment that pays dividends. On my bike I flashed the ECU after installing the Akra full exhaust and installing a high flow air filter. I refined the flash/tune on a dyno. I was able to get the power up to 89 HP. If anyone wants more info about that service you can send me a private message.

Given the suspension upgrade from the 2019 bike to the 2021 with the Showa Single function forks was meant fo be the biggest difference so not surprised to hear that upgrading it with Ohlins was a biggie for you!
Glad your loving yours I’ve done around 5,000 miles on mine since I bought it earlier this year and as my first big bike I’m loving it! Despite sort of falling for a sexy Italian number test riding a Panigale v2 a month ago!
Still have loads to do and learn on the Honda before I’m in need of a different bike though I think my son is planning to upgrade me before our second European tour next year so I don’t hold him up on his Ducati V4SP2 👍

Have you fitted the Quickshifter yet?
Came across a new unused genuine Honda one on EBay and love it on my bike!

Hello,

I couldn't tell from the photos. Are your front forks now adjustable? If so, do you know if the kit will work for a 2021 650R?

Thanks

Yes, the fork kit will work with the 2021. The Ohlins fork kit has adjustments for compression, rebound, and preload. Makes it easy to adjust for different road or track conditions.

tltech @tltech What fork kit you have? I have heard mixed reports about NIX 30 (FKS 516) being able to fit 2021 CBR650R. Ohlins are hard to reach and no doubt they will just revert with a generic "not reasearched" blurb.

Do you have direct knowledge if this can be done?

I have the Ohlins FKS 516 Street NIX 30 Cartridge Kit and FSK 150 Street Fork Spring Kit installed on my 2019 CBR650R. The forks are 41mm the same as the 2021 model. The stock cartridge on the 2021 is different than the 2019 model but that is replaced by the Ohlins kit.
