All 650Fs Has Anyone Lowered a 2018 CB650F ?

Dec 6, 2017
Getting OEM seat redone to eliminate sliding forward and make it more comfortable. Part of this process involves adding extra foam on the seat, therefor the seat will be higher. Was already on tiptoes with the OEM seat so would like to lower the bike a bit.

How is lowering accomplished, what aftermarket part(s) are needed and where are the part(s) available in the US?

Thank you for your input !!

Don't listen to the boy racers on their CBR's ;)
You're on a CB, a decent set of knee grips on the tank in the correct positions for your knees.
Lustracing.co.uk will do you a kit that can go down 1 or 2", can't remember exactly.

I’ve got a CB and I agree with the above if i was having any extra foam it would be a hump to stop me sliding backwards under hard acceleration if anything

T-Rex Racing makes a kit for the CBR650F

In one post, the user "Bishop" installed this kit, here is the link

Ok, this was for a 2014 CBR650F. But checking in many web sites who sell OEM Honda parts, the ones for the suspension has the same numbers for both the CB and the CBR, and this is the same for the 2014 - 2016 and 2017 - 2018 models. I believe with the update (2017-2018), Honda don't change anything in the rear suspension when compared with the first generation CB/CBR (the parts are the same), so in theory this T-Rex kit could work in a 2018 CB650F. The benefit with this kit is you can do it in your garaje, with the right tools, and don't have to mess with the rear shock. And there is the price! Downside is you have to cut the rear hugger so this T-Rex part can fit properly. I hope this can help you, if you decide to install it, please keep the process posted!

Would lowering the rear of the bike (hence the seat height) help ? I’m on my tiptoes and dread coming to a stop. I’m not a beginner. I’m sixty, been riding since I was twelve. Your advice will be deeply appreciated. Sincerely, Turo

Lowering it would help get you lower to the ground, but I would recommend lowering the same amount in the front to keep it even if you do go down this path.

I'm a shorter rider also and have contemplated lowering, but instead I just lean to the left and keep only that foot on the ground when stopped.
