Yeah that's what happened to meHappens to be as well, every time i ride there will be silver residue or paint marks on my riding boots.
it's hard to compare as in Canada we don't the same level of heat as you in Israel, but I will assume it's more of rubbing then "painting" maybe try anodizing it in black for example, will definitely look better and might be less rubbing. There is a post on the subject here. take a lookYeah that's what happened to me
Maybe the solution is to replace the footrest to something made with other materials like carbon fiber, it will look good too.
Can you clean it or did it become permanent? This is what the rearset does to leather boots in the summer in TX haha.
On that type of leather you can clean it to about 80% back to normal. And then it happens again, and next time you clean it's 70% of normal..by the 5th time you clean it, it doesn't really come off.Can you clean it or did it become permanent?
Yeah i'll probably do this, thanks. The heel plates and stock rearsets used to have a heavy coat of clear coat on them but these don’t seem to anymore, probably cost savings.
Pull the heel plates and rear set mounts off, clean them up and either get them powder coated or spray some clear on them. Problem solved.
