Fitting bar ends. It's it worth it to reduce the vibration?

I'm going to attempt to fit R & G bar ends to my CBR650R this weekend.
Before I do it, has anyone else fitted them and was it worth it please?

Thank you for

From the write up on the site these are simply bar end protectors, they don't do anything the OEM ones don't?
According to the website:
Helping to protect expensive levers and clip ons from damage in the event of a drop, crash or slide.

Easy to install they simply screw-in-place of the OE bar ends taking only seconds.

From this I believe these are purely an aesthetic upgrade? if you like to look of them, mission accomplished!
If you are looking to reduce vibrations I can't see these would make any difference? As they seem to screw into the existing weights?

Thank you for your post

I've also posted this elsewhere and had a couple of positive comments saying they helped.

Helped what, vibration? As Brian C. @Brian C. said I don’t see they would help much considering they don’t seem to be much, if any, heavier than stock. Which model are you looking at, heavy, slider, OEM style?

Fitted the new bar ends today and the vibration is less.
Wholly recommended 👍
Any noticeable effect on handling? I'm trying to decide between two - aluminum Vs stainless steel. The latter is obviously markedly heavier.

Comparing the stock bar ends (CB650R) which I weighed at approximately 290g each end (including inner bars), the aluminum will come in at 298g each end, so a slight increase - or the stainless at 450g each end.

I didn't notice any issues whatsoever

I have a CB650R with handlebar vibrations. (more since the 12000 workshop revision, I think). ç
I've installed the HVMP heavy handlebars and vibrations are mostly the same.
Now with 24k, workshop said everything is ok, but vibrations are annoying.

You ridden many other bikes?

I’ve fitted the Puig bar ends to my cb650r today and checking before they are a third of the weight so hopefully they won’t increase any vibrations

What stops these from rotating in the bar end?
I’ve not noticed any vibration problems in my bars, even when riding 300+ rural miles in a day.

What ends, OEM or aftermarket? OEM have a clip that goes around the inner rubber damper that stops it from working itself out but it will rotate and that is part of their design. Aftermarket that get rid of that inner damper simply use friction.

For this bike it depends on several things: are you susceptible to their 4 cyl. high freq vibrations, is your bike a bit of of vibrator, some are, some aren't, certain years seem to be worse (older gens seem to be more vibey), and is your riding more high RPM where you would feel it more? I noticed it on my '14 when I rode it aggressively my wrists and hands do not like 4 cyl. vibes so it was pretty annoying. Replacing my bar ends with heavier units (including a throttle lock) moved them to high enough RPMs it was above where I cruised so it wasn't as huge a deal anymore.

I did, however, go back to twin's and triples which don't bother me as bad, still bother me but it's not awful.

Same here. Maybe our version has less vibrations.

I'm on the other side... I prefer the inline 4 vibrations to the twins. 😅

But even with the same amount of cylinders, there's big differences between bikes. I remember my CBF500 had much less vibrations than Tracer 7. Maybe because of the 270º vs 180º crankshaft. The 180º feels more like an inline 4 and the 270º like a V-twin. 🙄

At the risk of hijacking a thread, I didn’t want to start another bar end one.

I was installing my new heated grips and noticed my left hand side doesn’t have the weighted bar and it seems the bar end was only held in place but shoving it under the rubber of the grip so I currently have no bar end and insane vibrations.

The right hand side does have oem bits, but I’m torn between:

A)
These Evotech bar ends - looking at them I assume I’d have to take the weight out of the right side and just use this in its place? (Link at bottom)

Or B) buy the parts to fit the oem weight on the left and just run oem bar ends

If the evo tech ones are good and don’t need the oem weights, it works out more cost effective to use those…

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of them or whether you think it’s better to just go with oem..

Evotech are fine, just don’t go with the light ones, mid or heavy weight are decent.
And do you have to remove the oem weight in the bar itself? Or are they designed to fit into that? The size of the linked ones looked like they are standalone?

Edit: disregard. Took the plunge and just went with OEM and ordered a new inner weight and parts for the missing side. Another thing ticked off my list at least!

For future, there are bar ends designed specifically for Honda and reuse the inner weight and those that don’t. Either work depending on what you want to do.
