Does Honda view these posts? I hope they do.

Had to have the fuel tank lifted by a bike shop on my 2018 CBR650FA this week. It had never been lifted before. They found that the fuel tank breather and overflow pipes were not routed in their designated locations and were all kinked when Honda assembled the bike and lowered the tank. The overflow pipe was full of rusty water. Gee thanks Honda, such great quality control !!! What else didn't you do right ?

That sucks but it’s still a lot of human work to assemble a motorcycle, so errors can be made. During quality inspection after the bikes are assembled, such a hidden error is hard to detect (I think) I understand your reaction, if it was my bike I would also be disappointed. But overall Honda motorcycles build quality is good and there bikes are reliable.

Wow... Unfortunate but interesting to hear. It's good that it was noticed & fixed.

Hopefully this helps others who may get under their tanks for any reason. Will be good to double-check.

This would be frustrating!

Must have been a Friday when my bike was assembled. Got a worker who was too busy thinking about his upcoming weekend.
