They are there to let you know you are going to be soon dragging hard parts that don’t move that can and will lift your wheel off the ground and can cause a crash.

Most of the time they are like 10mm or so longer than the hard parts hanging down. It’s usually the side stand foot that’s first to the ground.
I can tell you from personal experience that it is the sidestand attachment point that hits the floor after you get the footrest fully folded and it Isn't fun!

At least you don’t have a $16k MSRP Ducati that drags the exhaust pipe BEFORE the peg feelers. I knew I was low but had no idea how low……

I was exactly looking for this kinda mod. I'm trying to replicate this. May i please know the offset to the centre of the first screw from the top of the bar?

We are a trustworthy bunch (I think). But just be wary about anyone else trying to get you to download extract and open files in other parts of the internet :)

Just in case somebody needs the file I used. Please note that the thread is for illustration only, M8 1.25 should be used. all other dimensions is exactly what I used.
Hello, I am new here. Getting CB650R 2024 model and would really like to make this mod. I cannot open this file, would you mind posting the photos with exact dimensions again. Many thanks !

Thank you for the idea and the description, I created a 3D model and took it to a CNC. The result is amazing, so much more comfortable and honestly not really visible. Also saved me a lot of money as the alternative was a rear set. Again thank you!!!
Hello,
This is great idea! If I may ask where did you get the rubber footpegs? Many thanks
