CB650R Bike leans to the right with no hands

Hello All

This is my first post. Apologies if what i am posting is not for this place.
I will get to the point as it might concern other people as well.

Bought the lovely CB650R back in June. First few miles everything was perfect.
Few miles after the first service i noticed that the bike will lean to the right aggressively when i leave my hands.
Many of you will say don't leave your hands and you will be right, but since i found out i cannot get it out of mu mind.

Been to dealer 2 times, they say everything is fine. ( After they checked everything )
Checked my sitting position in multiple occasions still the same.
Tried a few different roads just in case but still the same.
Chain adjusted and tire pressure checked.
Only thing i noticed weird is the front tire. It has the HWM indication and i am wondering if that is the case and this tire is suggested by Metzeler for this bike (Super Weird).
I am in contact with Honda but they need another 10 days to respond.

Any help highly appreciated.

I think you mean by “when i leave my hands” let go af the handlebar! If you let go of the handlebar and you sit straight on the bike your motorcycle must continue to travel in a straight line. If not there is an issue. I had this problem a couple of years ago with one of my other bikes and the problem was an issue with one of my brake calipers. But I know this agressief lean to the right or left can have multiple causes. You really need to let your bike checked out again!

Hello Goblin

Thank you very much for your reply. Indeed i do mean when i let go the handlebar.
Dealer says calipers was checked. I completely agree with the fact that the bike should go straight in any scenario.
They suggested that i contact the head office which i already have and i am waiting for a reply on next steps.

Any other suggestions highly appreciated.

Any previous crash or drop damage to this bike? If aligned correctly the bike should NOT pull.....something has been missed, damaged or improperly assembled or adjusted.
the 3rd method in the video using string is tricky, time consuming but, done properly, will reveal any errors.

You concur *something* is wrong somewhere, somehow?

Bike has been bought in June. No drops or damage. Dealer insists that alignment is correct. i would agree that something has been missed, damaged or improperly assembled or adjusted (most likely the latter as the dealer was late to deliver 3 weeks) but i do not really have the experience to look for these issues my self. Though i will try the 3rd method as soon as possible.

Depending on the road the issue will be more or less the same, no standard behavior i am afraid.

Did the dealer made a test ride? If so, it’s not possible to say that the bike is okay if it’s leaning to the right. You really need to tell them that this is very dangerous

They actually had and reported again all good. At the same time a friend of mine can notice that as well.
I am very disappointed with the dealer as the mechanics will not talk to you directly. That is why i have informed the head office and waiting.
I though that maybe someone else is having the same issue.

Any chance you could let me know if your front tire has the HWM indication when you have a chance ?

Thanks

Do you have a fork stand? If so, then lift it up and spin the front wheel. Shake the wheel to see if it's loose. Look for misalignment. If all looks good check the front axle/hub area. Is there any noticeable gaps - as if there's a spacer missing? Can you actually see the axle?
Also, check the front tire for wear. Is there more towards one side of the tire than the other?

Then, like Ducatiman said, lift the rear and do YOUR OWN chain alignment! Shake the rear wheel to see if it's loose.

My bet is it's something to do with your tires or, probably more than likely, your chain is out of alignment DESPITE of what your shop is telling you.

***Also, you may want to check the forks with a kleenex or paper towel to see if you may have a leaking fork seal.

Eliminating a shop and relying on your own...this chain alignment tool would be an easy, inexpensive first method to determine if the rear wheel is out of whack.

Dunno availability in your country, but may be worth sourcing.

Best case...a learning experience and problem eliminated! Worst case...a minor investment in owning the tool going forward.

Could be something as simple as a cable being too tight and restrictive along its intended route, ie throttle or brake cable, which could give you a pull to the right ?
