CBR650F Bike Fell Over !!!

Came home from work the other evening to find my CBR650F sitting on its side! :arghh:

I had a cover over it so it looks like the wind just caught it and tipped it over.

After 5 minutes of swearing I managed to lift it back up, gave it a few minutes and started it up and it sounded ok.

Only got back to check it again yesterday and I can see brake lever is bent upwards which I will need to replace but I also noticed the Throttle side handle bar is bent downwards.
Took me looking at it for a few minutes to realize something looked a bit off!

How difficult is it to replace the handle bar on the throttle side?

I had only fitted my new Oxford Heated Grips last week, will these be wrecked when I try to fit a new bar?

Cheers Folks,

Sorry to hear about your bike . But luckily nothing serious is damaged. The handle bar is just an bolt on part so very easy to replace. Just take a look in your service manual for the install and torque settings and you’re good to go. Also see some YouTube videos will help. Good luck 👍

Hi Folks,

Anyone know any good sites to get a replacement Handlebar\ClipOn?

Tried to order from 2 sites already and they are all out of stock,

Thanks

Just call a local Honda dealer and let them order the part for you

eBay?

Swapping it is easy enough, as mentioned before - read the relevant sections of the service manual as it's all explained there.

Your grips won't be damaged by the swap.

Check first that it has not just shifted rather than bent! Quite often with a fall the clip on can just move round! I would try realignment first before ordering replacement.

Cheers guys, I took it off over the weekend and its definitely bent unfortunately.

I ordered one from Fowlers in the UK yesterday as they were showing in stock and it looks like I should have it tomorrow hopefully.

In fairness it was very simple to remove, the haynes manual & service manual are pretty good for these jobs.

Haven't ridden it in 2 weeks at this stage! so hopefully I will be back out as soon as the parts come in!

Cheers Folks,
Same thing happened to me. Bought a new 2018 CB650F this fall from a dealership and had it delivered to my house. On day 1and 0 miles I was walking it backwards out of my garage and It highsided and fell that caused the same damage; man was I embarrassed.

Mail ordered a new front brake lever from a place in California but the bars were not bent just the rubber mounted riser was knocked out of place. I loosened and retightened the riser bolt and the bars returned back to alignment.

Good luck,

Parts arrived from the UK Yesterday thankfully,

Took off the bent handlebar last night and swapped over the internal weights so will hopefully get to fit the new bar over the weekend and go for a spin,
