I've been active on this forum for a little while now- been meaning to post up some pictures of the bike.. these are not the first photos I wanted to upload 😅

Been taking the CBR to the Track for a little while now- bike handles amazing out there! Unfortunately this fall was of my own error.
Lowsided the bike doing about 100kmh through a turn. I basically just leant the bike down too far and ran out of tyre. Better body positioning would have preventing it- but I am new to the track and this is something i'm working on. I am 100% un-injured.

Luckily I had just fitted my R&G sliders about a week beforehand.. The damage isn't terrible but its certainly annoying as the bike is not even 3 months old!

I had been carried away getting excited that I had been scraping my pegs through corners- turns out scraping pegs is a big no-no. Lesson learnt.

Gave the bike a good 2-step polish yesterday and is already looking pretty good! Luckily my upgraded Puig screen had just arrived so that well timed replacement.
Looking like I can get all OEM replacment parts for about $300 so the damage isnt horrendous- although the fuel tank is dented and replacement tank will be $600. Will most likely just get that
repaired.

Glad that you are ok! For a 100km lowside I was expecting more damage.
Yeah luckily the bike only slid for about 10m on the track before piling into the sand

Unluckily, there is now sand everywhere.. my throttle/indicator switch is crunchy 😬

Sucks that gb racing dont have the alternator cover for the 21' CBR. I wonder could it have saved some of the scrapes there?

Damn, sorry to hear. Bikes can be easily repaired, you can’t. Looks like it might be tine for a track school, and not just a track day :)

Glad you're OK, and the bike damage isn't too bad.
Track tires will give you a lot more edge grip than the stock tires and do a lot to prevent low-sides like yours. I've ground my right-side feeler completely off without sliding the bike out, not because I'm so skilled but because tires like Q4s and RS10s provide a higher grip threshold for my mistakes at those lean angles. They're worth every penny for track days.
Hope you get it sorted and back out on the track!

To add to Dankotaru @Dankotaru comment above, i run the Q4 at the track (bought a 2nd set of rims on EBay). Huge difference in traction when up to operating temp. Avoid dragging the pegs (its like tossing an anchor!)

Yep.. Had done 2 track school-days, then this session was a last-minute, last session of the year 'Sunset session'

Open pitlane.. I went to start practicing my positioning etc however was very cautious of the fact there were A-Grade riders coming flying past doing twice your speed in the corners.. Not a great time to run wide whilst practicing 😅

My CBR is fully alive and well, so I'll be back at the next session!

Yeah I'm still on the Sportmax's - Think I'll go to S22's or Rosso III's next.
Some Tyre-warmers would be great.. The amount of times I've heatcycled my tyres has absolutely shredded them..
