Hello, I am the proud owner of a 2014 CB650FA (the 35kw version), it has 36k kms or around 22k miles on the odo, and it started presenting quite a loud ticking noise that is most noticeable on the left side of the engine. The oil was changed 2000 kms ago and I was planning on changing the spark plugs and the air filter because it feels like it started to vibrate somewhat harder in the 3000 to 8000 rpm range than usual. I was thinking that it might be the pair valve since everyone complains about them but the sound doesn't go away over 5000 rpms it just becomes more of a buzz. I would rule out the timing chain since that is on the right side of the engine. Also one thing I've noticed is that it comes somewhat more from the top of the engine... I haven't done a valve clearance check and the previous owner probably didn't do one either, could it be possible that the noise is from the valvetrain?
Here is a link to a video where I tried to catch the noise as best as I could.

I am open to suggestions and advice and I thank you in advance.

It could be the valves, but I'd be surprised at only 22k miles.

Camchain would be another guess, but that's on the right hand side.

Is it possible you have an exhaust leak / failed gasket? Any work done in that area recently? Maybe a stud nut has come loose.

Check everything is done up tight.
