What tyres do you recommend for the CBR650R

This has been covered a lot in the past and there have not been too many changes in tires over the past few years so search a bit to get more in depth answers. In short, tires depend on expected mileage and expected performance. Dunlop Roadsmarts are up to gen 4s now, Bridgestone T series are...

CBR650R Affordable Lift for Basic Maintenance?

Rear stand to start (as @JRinKtown said), add a front when you have the money and you’ll be good for quite a while. I will add you do get what you pay for and being in Canada getting a used PitBull would be a great investment; the PitBull I just put my ‘26 KTM 990 RC R on has been used on 25+...

GB Engine Covers over Evotech Frame Sliders?

Nothing has changed in the design of the frame or engine since the 650 platform was introduced in ‘14 so the advice from back then still stands: You run a risk of frame and engine damage if you use “sliders” and the bike falls over. Much higher with single point, lower, but still there, with 2...

    CBR650R 2026 hello

Shock sounds like a good idea but I’d do cartridges before swapping entire forks. A lot goes into them: fork diameter, triple clamps sizing, fork length, springs, axle, brake rotor spacing, fender mounts, wheel spacers….

    Fork oil question -

Yup, basics all apply but know that bike fluid volume is far less and exposed to the elements more so things like brake fluid should be changed every 2 years, coolant every 3 or 4, etc. Thats why the service manual is so handy. Yup!!! When you do a fluid change not everything will come out no...

    Fork oil question -

Service manual download is located in the resources section of the forum, that will give you a full breakdown of service intervals. Fork oil service interval is usually number of years or number of miles, whatever comes first. 12k miles sounds right, 5 years is about the timeframe going by...

    Bar risers 650f

That sounds about right. Usually around 15-17ft lbs so that’s in the ballpark.

    CBR650R Odd tick

There is also no need to remove the radiator to swap the exhaust. Remove the bolts holding it on and either tip it forward or pull it off but leave the hoses connected. Don’t make it harder than it is.

    All 650Fs Throttle feels weird

Start at the basics: take the throttle assembly apart and check for binding or anything else holding it up. Check your throttle cables as well to be sure they move freely. Reassemble and check cable adjustment is within spec. Your bike is 12+ years old according to your profile, could be any...

    CB650R Rapid Bike Dimsport

Respectfully, I disagree, it depends on your exhaust. Akra, for instance, specifically says you do not NEED one but one is recommended. Put 5K miles on my CBR650F before selling it without a fuel controller and with the Akra exhaust. Bike ran great, not perfect but not bad enough to warrant a...

    All 650's Why Doesn't Anyone Make a Slip-On Exhaust?

I could go on forever but in short, love it and am SO happy to be back on a sport bike again. It's not super comfortable, the Honda 650, Ducati Supersport or the Street Triple RS I had before it were pretty comfy, it's a sportbike after all which makes sense. But as a fat, 53 year old guy with a...

    All 650's Why Doesn't Anyone Make a Slip-On Exhaust?

90% of muffling happens in the collector box, part 3, and part 5 is really just a cover without any real muffling. Pretty much every modern bike nowadays has a fully welded pipe so a slip on without cutting is pretty much non-existent. Could they do a bolted pipe? Yup, my ’26 KTM 990 RCR has a...
