My dealer said my bike wasn't affected.

Today, I received a recall letter from Honda. I had the thing serviced last week!

It seems there's dealers working in slow motion in many countries... guess they don't have much interest in recalls... 🙄

Not my dealer. I checked Honda's website the week it was serviced and there were no recalls.
Honda didn't release the information.
It's not the first time Honda have kept information to themselves e.g. Warranty change from 2yrs to 6yrs, introducing it the month after the new registrations plate. I'd have delayed delivery 3wks to get that.

Tbh, I'm not over impressed with Honda but my dealer is excellent.

I find that hard to believe when Honda releases the information to public several months in advance. They know the problem and which bikes affected, but don't tell their network? Strange...

About the warranty, I can understand them. At some point they have to draw the line, or else everyone would ask for more.

Ok. I've had bad experiences with a few dealers in the past (different brands) so maybe that's having it's weight on my opinion.

Honda didn't release the bikes affected to the dealer or in the public domain. That's a fact because at the time of service there were no recalls. The dealer checked. I checked the same week of the service.

Honda know people take delivery of new bikes in March and September. They chose to wait until April to extend the warranty. You don't need a Masters to know why.

My Toyota car dealer is fantastic. Any queries with Toyota have been excellent.

Honda customer service is not interested in customer loyalty and care. Honda RoadSync support is rubbish.

They knew the exact production dates of the affected models, and the last digits of the VIN code in every bike is a sequential production number...
Do you think they don't know which VINs came out on those dates?

This was published by EU on 20/03/2025:

Also, American Honda released this on March 2025.

At the time, I also checked on Honda Portugal website (no results) and asked my dealer (knew nothing).
Only on August of 2025 I was notified by my dealer.

So... Honda released information to some countries and not others!? Maybe... or maybe not... it's up to each one of us to choose in what to believe.

Honda RoadSync support is rubbish.
Honda Roadsync app is rubbish! 😆 and, by the way, I'm a developer... 😉
There was so many nice things they could do with it...

My left turn signal and hazards went out last summer. The dealership said the turn cluster is defective and ordered me a turn cluster. They said it was back-ordered. Nine months later, I'm still waiting for it... The issue in the recall link sounds like it could be related.

Since then, I've called dealers all over the country, including the highest volume dealerships, and every single one has said it is back-ordered with no known date of arrival.

I'm working with national Honda Customer Support and they've been trying to dig into this. Apparently, that part has been superseded by a new turn cluster, most likely due to a manufacturing defect in C31. It sounds like they are looking for a new supplier and likely have found one but they still need to manufacture the parts, apparently. Everyone has been helpful but at the end of the day, I still don't have the part.

Honestly, given that this is important safety equipment, I'm pretty disappointed that Honda, with all its resources, has not been able to prioritize the availability of this part for at least a year, if not longer. And I don't even know when or if this part will become available.

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this issue and this delay in getting the part.

The part in question is #35200-MKN-C31 and the superseded part is #35200-MKN-C32.

I suspect your fault is the loom and nothing to do with the ‘cluster’ but a break in the loom feeding it.

But if the bike cannot be ridden safely I would return it.

There are a few clusters on eBay, so it is available.

FYI: I checked Partzilla and Revzilla, which were both showing as the part being in stock but the website is wrong and it's still backordered with no ETA... But I am going to have the dealership take a look at the wiring again, like you suggested, just in case it isn't the turn cluster. They already did a full diagnostic check but I'm going to have them check again, just in case.
