All 650's Engine side casing Paint .....17 models

I've had the paint colour of the engine side-casings matched by RS Bike Paints.
My intention is to use it on some parts, however, if anyone needs to touch-up their casings, they now have it stored on their database.
As it is the first time they have had this colour, it is stored under my name and not Honda 650f.
If anyone does need touch up, I'm happy to share the details.
30ml touch ups are £8.50 and 400ml aerosols are £16.50.......current prices.

Thank you for still passing on the paint-code info. I went through the dealership route to try and find the colour, but there's still no good info there. Would you be so kind to pass on the info yet again? I'll assume it's something I can get made up here in Canada as well. Cheers!

i think we could re-paint the whole engine cover with new bronze color that we can find at our hometown painting workshop. That will be solve all the problems of paint color code from Honda. Afterthat we have our own and officialy color code from paint company that we choose.

I have a 19 CB650R too. I don’t have an exact paint match but I found this to be reasonably close for a small touch-up:

Hi All, bobstrax very kindly helped me out with his paint code after my original post (thanks!), but I thought it would also be nice to get the "official line" from Honda themselves. Being of a persistent nature, (and irritated by their original Bullpoop response (see original post)) I rattled Honda's cage until I - eventually - got the following response (verbatim):

"I have spoken with my bike master technicians. The clutch cover is bronze and is called YR-325M Pyrite Brown Metallic. I hope this goes some way to assuring you that all matters brought to the attention of Honda (UK) are taken seriously and thoroughly" LOL)

So there you go.. it would appear Honda paint colours are a secret guarded only by master technicians (and many-headed hounds and black magic!). But apparently the colour name we've all been struggling to find is Pyrite Brown Metallic or YR-325M.

Hope this helps people out, and in particular, that Bojay's soul will hurt a little less now!

I will try to attach some pictures with a spot of the colour i've made on a brand new engine cover. The spot is in front of the arow on the post-it, that is a drop of paint aplied with my finger, the paint is acrylic and dont have any clear coat. painted with a spraygun and with semi-gloss clear coat it came perfect. On the catalogue photos you can se a bit of a difrence because the engine cover is semi-gloss and the catalogue is biliant.

That Bike was made on a official Honda dealership, Mototrofa. The red colour is one from mazda, and also has some Nardo grau stripes and the other more darker are an Ral color code

I got the bottles of that touch up paint from ScratchesHappen. Just arrived in the mail today, but it's raining so I wasn't able to get it done. I'll update this thread when things dry up and I get it touched up. I hope it matches well. I don't need perfection, but I'm often unhappy with poor color matches.

I gave it a shot today since I've got a few dry hours and available time. The color looks wrong when you're painting it, but it dries to a near perfect match. I'm an admittedly bad painter, but if I didn't tell you it was touched up, you wouldn't know it when standing beside the bike. It gets my stamp of approval.

It would probably be even better if I sanded the area smooth and properly prepped it for painting. Or if I let the clear coat dry all the way. Or read the directions on the bottle. Nah, real men don't do that stuff!! #TimTaylorGrunt #manflex #hashtag... Seriously, if you properly prepared the area and painted it like you want it to look good, you wouldn't be able to tell anything was damaged. It's as good of a color match as you're going to get without simply replacing the damaged piece.
