totally. I only adjusted the chain every 6 months (fussy on alignment though). They do cause a bit of a mess, as long as you can handle a bike not being spotless…
This is the old front sprocket.

New chain & sprockets on, went one tooth up on the front sprocket.
45,000kms isnt bad
Hi - dumb question.
I feel like I should have the need to replace my chain & sprockets by now - I’ve done 45,000 kms but have used a chain oiler from day one.
The sprocket teeth look ok at me (I think), attached is photo. The chain tension guide is still in the green. Any tips...
I'll go against the grain with most of the replies.
The cb650 is a relatively boring and unexciting bike. It's reliable & does what's asked of it. It's Honda. It's exactly why I bought it.
Op - sell it, buy something more fun, plenty of choices out there
I bought the cb as a reliable commuter, the triple became unreliable after a lot of kms.
CB
+ less fuel
+ seat more comfortable
+ has abs (the 2012 triple didn't)
+ hopefully reliable after high kms
+ was pretty cheap to buy
Triple
+ faster, lighter & just more fun, CB is boring in comparison...
Nah, I would have done a few more kms if I had known I was so close to 400. Our dash doesn't help as it goes into that flashing mode instead of the odometer
I'm surprised as well how little fuel this bike uses. It's literally half of my previous bike (street triple). I've use gastracker app since I've gotten this bike and averaged 24 km a liter according to the app.
Half of my commute is slow, traffic lights, some filtering, the second half is 80kmh
Thanks. Already wear ear plugs.
I've read for some it helps, for others I can make it worse by deflecting air from the chest to the helmet.
I'll role the dice :)
