I think we all realize they are two total different bikes, but in some aspects are similar. The R1 is a $16,799 MSRP vs under $9,249 for the CBR. Most of this is obvious stuff but here goes:
STYLING: As street bikes go, (sport/supersport) they are both great looking bikes. Both color...
If you are insane, I nee a straight-jacket. I got an 18 R1 and all I can say, it OH S, the speed and handling. There are good vs bads I can list if any one is interested.
Mine did this pretty bad until about 2000 miles. At 3000 miles, its a little less, but still has a vibration to it. Although some will scream safety, I will palm the throttle on
the highway and it helps a little. I think a good trick might be to add a cruise control and a light grip.
So, what are you guys doing for a USB source or 12 V ACC to charge something like an IPHONE. Don't want to hack up the wiring if poss, but def need a
charger.
The first few rides on my 18 scared the **** out of me. Mine does the same thing and from what I can tell its the "pair" valve. When I first heard it, I thought the oil pressure was too low, almost a marbles in the engine sound. I have no idea why Honda would put something like this on the...
was at a red light the other day. The car facing me in the other direction bright lighted me! I had low beams only on. I guess they look bright as far as safety goes.
As for night riding, they seem ok but flicking on high beams doesn't seem to be as huge a change as I would have expected.
Rode a 2017 CBR1000RR SP (189hp) today. It stopped better, accelerated much harder, and turned better than my 650. Doesn't that make it a safer bike? No. What makes a safe bike is not hp, but the rider.
My point is a good riding school (road course for cars will benefit too) will go a...
Today, two friends and I rode through Northern California about 120 miles. Was a great trip, weather was severe clear around 60s F. The other riders were on a 71 Harley Electra Glide and a newer stroked Harley Road King. We rode in the area of Drytown, CA. Picture of bikes below at Old...
CHP has "guidelines" as indicated in the original bill AB 51. Their original guidelines were taken off their site. They are not laws, but anyone who knows the CHP knows this is what they use to enforce traffic safety.
It pretty much says, don't ride stupid and you can split when, however...
Traffic was a bit heavy today so decided to lane split about 10 pairs. As I was moving along lugging 2nd pretty much(traffic at a dead stop), I notice the exact car below. I was about to slow and tell him what a nice car but decided I better get up to the light. BUT, before I could he turned...
just got back from a 60 mile ride and I noticed vibration in the throttle seemed quite a bit less than less time I rode. I kept it between 65 and 85mph, varying throttle. I'll probably just take it easy until the first oil change and then its on
Folsom, CA via Hwy50 to Placerville, CA. Mainly a high speed route for playing on highway.
Placerville, CA to Georgetown, CA via CA-193, twisty action.
Georgetown, CA to Auburn, CA via CA-193.
Auburn, CA to Granite Bay, CA via I-80W
Approximately 85 miles and probably riding in formation...
How many miles do of routine driving did you put on your bike before you started operating it at WOT, high rpm?
Noted, the first oil change in the book is listed at 600miles.
yeah, figured the ECM might be doing its thing. Truth is, I'm satisfied w/the bike factory stock. Don't think I'll modify the exhaust or the emissions equip for now.
That said, hopefully I can get a ride in soon. weather is looking bad this week.
