All 650's How many fingers on clutch and front brake levers?

I was wondering what is your driving style/technique? Using the original levers. What do you think is the correct way? I use 2/2.
I tried to check if there was a poll before about this but couldn't find it.

4 on clutch, brake... It depends, 1, 2 or 4 depending on the situation.

It's a question of how much finess versus how much "oh s**t!" is going on at the time.

0 clutch, 0 brake... I just use the E-Clutch and rear brake 😂

With E-clutch I almost never use the lever anymore, but with other bikes I always used 4 on the clutch. Easier to keep it engaged around town waiting for the green lights...🏁 😁 faster to change gears at higher speeds (when not doing clutchless shifts) since I could apply more strength quicker. Also easier when shifting more than 1 gear at once.

On the brake, I always have 2 fingers on the lever all the time. Even when not braking.

I use 4 on the clutch, but think its habit, and don't see any difference in how many its personal preference.
As for the front brake, I taught myself to brake with 2 fingers a while back. Do a bit of research, the number of riders who never apply the brake before an emergency stop, resulting in a crash is scary. I had a couple of dirty pants moments and realised Id hit the foot brake only, I think its years of driving before I took a bike test, and having read up, lots of people panic and grab the bars to hold on tight only. As we all know the rear brake doesn't exactly stop you quickly so actively practiced braking with 2 fingers especially when traveling in traffic, you know when the dick in the car your following who hasn't used their mirror(s) since they took their test, decides to slam on, whilst it took a bit of getting used to at least I always apply some font brake now. I later did the I2I motorcycle academy course 1&2 (in the UK) That course changed my braking ability beyond my dreams and would highly recommend everyone to do it or one similar.
I now find a quiet industrial estate every few weeks to practice emergency stops and u-turns, figures of 8 etc

I use 4 and 4.
Bigger levers instead of shorties and just feels like I have more control and a better ability to lightly squeeze the brake but I’m ready for heavier braking if a hazard develops

I’ve not tried 2 but I feel like at this stage after always using 4 it would make me a bit “uneasy” in the sense I’m learning a new technique of sorts…

took a bit of getting used to but by covering the brake when in traffic the response time is shortened and it was worth practicing, i tend to brake with 2 fingers more often then 4

And that makes a critical difference when every fraction of time counts!
Everyone should have fingers on the lever all the time, regardless of how many.

When in slower moving / built up traffic and filtering etc they are always covered but generally on a back road I don’t when the view is clear etc.

I actually went for a ride today and turns out on my brakes it’s not 4, it’s actually 3.. now I’m intrigued as to whether I actually do 2 at times subconsciously…

Edit: ok I’m wrong. On my commute this morning

2 fingers primarily
3 for heavier and while it didn’t happen, I’m going to guess 4 for an emergency stop lol

I occasionally use the clutch to drive out of my garage and up the hill of my gravel drive. Otherwise I almost never use except for a U turn perhaps.
I try to use two on the brake but more often use three. I need to work on that. I don’t have standard levers

Too much strength too fast, it's the fastest way to lock your wheel (trigger abs). That's one of the reasons for me to use only 2 and sometimes can be too much too 😅

Usually two and two, at times I use four on the clutch especially when I start from standstill, if in the traffic the two on the brake are always there

Sometimes I squeeze my other two fingers with the clutch lever, but it's totally my fault so I had to accept that 😅
