Halo,
What do you guys think about drilling few holes on the exhaust tank to (just) gain a better sound. Has anyone ever tried? any ideas about performance issues or damage to the engine? I'm also concern about voiding the warranty. It sounds amazing while saving $1500+ CAD.

I would say modifying the stock exhaust with drilled holes stands a 100% chance of voiding your warranty if it’s something engine related.

Save your pennies and buy a real exhaust when you can afford it.

I'm thinking about doing the same thing to my but afraid it might do some damage or not sound right can't justify the expense of buying full system just a pity the 650f can't take a slip on which can be bought really cheap and easy installation

If you're willing to drill holes in your stock exhaust, you might as well just get one of the more budget exhaust options like IXIL or Black Widow for half that price.
Hi where about is the catitlic converter located on 650f is it in the muffler box or on the pipe entering it because I don't want to upset that ?

Ok thanks looks like I won't be able to remove that box so without having to do a Dyno remap afterwards which isn't cheap 😆

You might try drilling holes but what do you want more noise? The noise will sound like shit and you will have less power. But that

depends where you drill the holes so don't get carried away drilling, you might hit oil.Just save your money and get a nice Termignoni

full carbon exhaust, you won't look back!

I think I finally came up with a solution.

I could not justify spending the cash on a new exhaust right now, but wanted that sound upgrade like everyone else. Later, while resting on the couch, I suddenly remembered my old BMX when I was younger.

So simple, how could I have forgotten!

That is awesome. I bet it sounds way better than an Akrapovic!

Funny, I just noticed Honda is doing this on the CB650R. Noticed it the other day when I had the bike running and I was looking at something underneath.

Hi. I’m new here. I got a 2014 about 6 months ago. I just recently got a booster plug, k&n & gutted the cat... in that order. Much smoother with the booster plug.. best $160 spent. Better mpg with the k&n & the stock decat exhaust works and sounds nice with the extra fuel /air. Lots more smooth lane splitting power up to 7k rpm. Bike just runs cooler & faster. Cost around $250 & 3-4 hrs... I can’t believe the booster plug isn’t more popular with you folks.
