Hey Everyone, I'm New to the Forum world, so forgive if this has been discussed..

When I Bought my CBR650R the only exhaust I really wanted to install was the Yoshimura R-77 full Exhaust system, I couldn't find any evidence to prove that it would fit my bike. After trawling endlessly through discussions and pictures, I thought I'd contact Yoshimura themselves and ask the question "Does it Fit" they informed me that the full system fits the naked CB650r as far as their testing went, they weren't sure the headers would clear the fairings.

I did offer Yoshimura to gift me a system to "test fit" but they didn't seem interested...... weird!

The other big issue was the price, a new Yoshi system for the brand new (at the time 2021) bike is £1,100 gbp.
For a £7-8k bike it didn't seem worth it.

Whilst in the midst of my "research" I came across a new old stock r-77 System for a CB650F on eBay for just £480, I decided it was worth the gamble. I knew from comparing pictures of all the 650's, the newer CB650R's and CBR650R's have different pillion pegs i.e mounting points so I gathered something would have to be made to fit.

Here's what I came up with...

With a piece of 90 degree angled aluminium 3-4mm thick, I cut out a little bracket, drilled a couple of holes and got the can mounted, It fit!

Luckily I have a mate who own's a powder coating company so he quickly coated it for me. I used the Yoshi supplied nuts and Bolts etc.

Now I Just needed to know if the fairings would clear the headers, it was a little close so with a handful of washers I spaced the fairing away from the exhaust.

Yoshi exhausts come supplied with a heat reflective tape so the inside of the right fairing has a good few strips of it.

And there we have it! 3000 miles later, no melted fairings, no loose bolts, it sounds amazing and in my opinion looks better than other exhausts on the market.

Bought mine used with a yoshi exhaust on it. The original owner had heat reflective tape around the fairing where the headers were touching. I opted to go for an exhaust heat shield and added a spacer to the lower fairing bolt like you suggested. Quick and easy fix and looks better imo.
