What's the 2024 /2025 CBR650R missing?

Having owned my 2025 CBR650R for a few weeks, I think it's an excellent bike.
If only it had cruise control.

What do you wish it had?

...a no e-clutch option. I know I don’t have to use it, but I don’t want it in the bike.
Here in Portugal (and other European countries) we have the option to buy a non e-clutch version. Don't you have that option in USA?

I don't care for cruise control, but it seems many people asks for it

Something I would like... navigation with maps, not just turn by turn indications, ambient temperature (useful for cold days when you might find ice on the road) and more themes/layout options on the screen (why battery voltage it's hidden in the menus!?). Suspension is good enough but remote preload on the rear shock would be nice too.

I have the CB, but I think these are valid for the CBR too.

We do not.
Strange...
The image I have of the American people, correct me if I'm wrong, is that you like more traditional bikes with less gadgets, and more reliable and easier to service it yourselves. While here in Europe, most people take it to the dealers and like to have new gadgets to play with, or just to show off... 😅

Maybe Honda thought... if Americans prefer cars with automatic transmissions, probably they'll love e-clutch

Anyway, I think brands should give everyone all the options and let them decide what's better for them. Guess costs and business always talks louder 🙄

Motorcycles are toys over here and not very popular so we only get a limited selection. As well, Americans, especially males, have penis size issues so unless it’s the biggest, baddest, fastest, most gadgets, most expensive, most complicated and most overblown they don’t buy it.

So if there’s a choice between basic and up model, we get the up model. With the new CB1000F we only are getting theSP because Honda knows the standard will have to get sold at blowout prices next year when it doesn’t sell this year.

One thing that I don't like is the play in the throttle control
Seem to notice it more on this bike

I can only speak for the UK but most of my friends, as well as me, prefer to service their own bikes and dislike electronic aids. That is why an awful lot of smaller, simpler bikes are selling so well. Just start the motor and go - no faffing with modes and maps. Most ride for leisure. I'd say the split is more to do with age, the older the rider the more likely to eant to work on the bike. The average age of riders is high.

It's cable
600mls service is due soon. I'll ask them to tweak it, if they will. They might just say that's how they are
Of course it's cable! Doh! The cables are usually too slack on new Hondas but if it's due a service I'd leave it to them too.

😂😂😂😂
Good that you're one of the few healthy ones, that know how to appreciate smaller bikes 😉

There's people like that over here too. But to me, mid size bikes are perfect. 😀
I must say that the bike on top of my list of "bikes to ride", that I never had the opportunity to ride and probably never will is a 400cc... Honda CB400SF! That small bike with the VTEC engine... it must be so much fun to make it scream! 😁

You're probably right... hadn't thought about it that way

They adjusted the throttle during the 600mls service yesterday. Feels much better without the play. Looking forward to riding it, when I get chance. Work gets in the way!

I also asked them about the revs on idle and to check the eclutch /clutch as its been missing gears when using the eclutch. Not sure if they attended to these. Waiting for feedback

I'd love an extra 20bhp, I don't need it, but would like it. I like the simplistic side to the CBR at 94 bhp I just cant see why we need rain mode, sports mode and stabalizers....
I bought and fitted genuine heated grips, not as easy as after market ones but look and more importantly work better, I had to adjust the throttle cable after that. Being a tight arsed Yorkshire man I saved about £300.00 doing it myself

Cruise Control, 50 pounds less wieght andddddd 600 exhaust noise. It has a buzz in it which I hate and I have only seen it in CB650 models. After market exhaust will bring that buzz out even more, especially Akras. PAIR Valve removal does not fix it if you think you are a SA!
