Valve timing adjustments necessary at 24k KM?

I made an appointment for a 24k service at my dealer today. The service guy there said that Honda recommends checking the valves every 24k kilometers. He told me that in their experience, it really isn't necessary to do for the first 24k service, so they basically suggest not doing it as it saves me a lot of money.

Is he right or is it foolish to skip this for the first 24k service. Could I wait as long as 48k, or should I do it at 36k?

On a 4cyl Honda, provided it doesn’t spend its life bouncing off the rev limiter, personally speaking I’d skip the first check and start thinking about it around the 36k-40k mark.

Cool, thanks for the feedback.
Makes me appreciate the dealership even more for being honest about this and not trying to wrangle me out of money.
